LNB for Sky hd box

I know that for Sky HD box and HD subscription you need a dual output lnb. Do you need the dual lnb in order to be able to record a different programme than what you are watching?
If I am not interested in recording and watching different channels is still the dual lnb necessary?

Thank you.

I would think you need both feeds m8 the one goes to record feature the other for watching programmes, you may be able to record off a single feed??? quad lnb,s are cheap as chips now anyway so why not use your sky + to its full potential??

regards Dave

It still needs the feed to record even if it is what you are watching, the 2nd feed goes to the second tuner which outputs to the recording hard drive
