Talking ITV HD available on new sky HD box software

There are many reports coming in that ITV HD can be watched via "Add Channels" on the new software being run out to Sky HD boxes!

ONLY if your box has received the new software Add Channels using these parameters:

11.427
H
2/3
27500

And add channel 10510. You will need to watch via the Other Channels function.

Dont even bother trying if you are still on the old style s/w - it wont work

Question New EPG Software

How do you know you have the 'eligible' EPG software to enable the loading on of ITV HD please?
Is there a version NUMBER - e.g. my Thomson HD box has version 5.10.kHD on it - even after carrying out a System Download (10mins) on it?

Chances are that could be down to a faulty HD box........

Could be, but it does show in big white letters on black background: ITV HD This service is currently unavailable.

My System: 1.8m PF Dish, most sky and freesat recivers, 80cm on Illusion motor and Dreambox DM7025, TDT

you only need to look at the freesat site for whats on HD for the following week....
and you can see how little committment to HD ITV has..
_http://www.freesat.co.uk/index.php?page=whatson.HDschedule
one HD programme a day!!!!
which is probably why you do not see much on your sly HD box also.

Quite right M8 - but not MANY others - even 'flagship' ones like Britains Got Talent, X Factor, Corrie, etc etc!

Still await MY new EPG on my Thomson HD box - but not really certain if I even want it as havent heard very good reports elsewhere about it!

My System: ADSL 1 Meg., SKY HD (Thomson DSI8215WD), Sky+ 160, TDT (Spanish freeview)

I got my new EPG last night. At present I am finding it a bit hard to navigate, but I am sure I will get used to it.

The best bits so far are the multi-character programme search and, what appear to be, cached series links. No more "... try again later" messages. I am hoping it will also allow me to series link when two recordings are in progress too.

I also like the new blue button feature to switch to the last watched channel and the fact that the "R" icon appears in the EPG listings.

The most unextected thing is that it seems to treat timeshift channels as "the same" channel e.g. if you string search for a programme in the EPG that is on ITV2 and ITV2+1 it just shows as being on ITV2 with a stack symbol. When you drill down you then see the ITV2 occurances as individual entries.

I have added ITV HD to my Other Channels and hope to try it out soon. Bizarrely they still haven't allowed enough flexibility in the Add Channels option to allow most HD transmissions to be added.

I have a Thomson box Model No. 607120Y Version No. 4E3009 and had my Sly letter 2/5/09 notifying me of my imminent upgrade, so await with anticipation!

My System: SkyHD and High Spec Core2 Quad PC

I can confirm that I can now receive ITV HD following EPG update and manual add channel on my early Thomson S*y HD box. Not sure it was worth waiting for as less than 1 program broadcast a day from what I can see - worse than BBC HD!

Anyone know if a quick way to access this extra channel, as currently several clicks on remote to get there?

Thanks for sharing info.

It wont be on any channel number - it has to be added manually in Add Channels, then can be watched in Other Channels section.

10510 is its signal identification (technical parameter unique to each channel) not a channel number!!

Thumbs up Itv hd

Got my new EPG on Tuesday, just in time for Man U game on ITV HD!
Bit of a shame ITV HD not straight on on the existing EPG though, think Sly & ITV should get their acts together! Having to manually scan in seems mega naff to me in this enlightened technical age in which we live?
Excellent quality however once you get through the new menus to find 'Other Channels'.
So far, to be fair, I DO like the new formats etc and am getting on with it fine - really like being able to see the channel you start off on displayed in small screen top right corner - yes, all in all its very good!

Just wanted to say thanks to Analoguesat!

Works like a charm on my new EPG. Indeed only nice for those matches that $ky Sports HD doesn't cover, but way better than installing a freesat box for the one show they air a night (on a good day that is)...

Logically I suppose that when Sly & ITV DO actually get their acts together, ITV HD will be either number 141 or 142 on Sly EPG platform, as Chan 4 & BBC HD already occupy 140 & 143!
