My System: System1.. Channel Master 1.8m with CM Feedhorn AZ/EL Mount. MTI AP82-TW 0.6dB LNB. Panasonic TU.DSB30 Decoder. System2.. 0.8m dish, 4 Digistar LNBS, Nokia 9802S Decoder.
New EPG... and cant see channels

Just got back from work, turned on my Sky box and saw a new EPG... Bear in mind I watched sky as normal last night...
Looked through the EPG and can see all programmes ect...no problems... But I cant select any channel or program. Message says 'no satellite signal received'...

HELP! Any idea what is going on...?

INFO...
I am currently in a very fringe area... Can receive 2D H but not 2D V channels normally.

My System: ADSL 1 Meg., SKY HD (Thomson DSI8215WD), Sky+ 160, TDT (Spanish freeview)

I am also in a fringe area (2D horizontals but no verticals). Got the update last night and am receiving all the channels I could previously (plus ITV HD).

Having seen this other thread, I think it may be that you have lost reception of the default transponder! Try changing it to whatever you were using previously.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

It is set on V 11778... But how do I know what was the previous transponder? Any settings or values you can give me?

As you are finding the new epg on Sky HD boxes causes problems in fringe areas if the box cant get its default tp.

The obvious answers are a bigger dish or change to a none sky hd box.

Oh my God... Serious problems now then.

Isnt there any other transponder I can use, if I change it in the settings in 0,1,select?
By the way... I noticed 11778 V is a standard 2A channel and not 2D! I could definitely receive these chanels on this frequency before. As I said before, I only had problems with V on 2D.
By the way, I am hopeless at all this... I am not sure what a default transponder is...

Dont fret just yet.

The default tp is just the one the epg is carried on. You could try changing it in the settings to 11720H which is the old epg default tp, but theres I have no idea how successful that would be or if its a long term fix.

You may find the same problem as the SD boxes have in southern Europe and folk change it - if the box get the merest sniff of the north beam default it immediately revert back causing problems agaian

Well.....

Hässleholm, Sweden should be well within the default Tp 11.778 North beam footprint anyhow and would suggest you are missing a signal in general. Not related to default transponder lock I'd say.

See if you can borrow a skybox to test your dish.

I get 11788 no problem with my dish so I wouldn't epect that to cause me problems.

My System: 1.25m offset dish for Astra2 28deg., 1.2m dual feed for Astra1 and Hotbird, Thomson Sky HD, Humax HDCI2000, Dragon CAM, Invacom 0.3 twin lnb, Dell Dimension 4400 and Inspiron 1525, 1 meg broadband

It's not 11778 V anymore with the new EPG!
The new default, if my information is correct, is 11856, V. I don't have the new EPG myself so I can't confirm 100% but this is what I have been informed.

Many many thanks for your replies... Had a go today and went for 'Bales' suggestion, and I did in fact use a single feed. I found a setting where you can set it to single feed... basically because I do not use te record function yet.

This solved the problem...and all channels popped up as before!

I suppose if I wwnt to dual input, I would have to change this setting again?! I didnt know I ever had a setting like this before... Be careful fellas.

I am extremely grateful for the advice... Many thanks guys.

My System: 3.6M prime focus DH dish, Invacom Quad LNB, HD Digibox: 1.2M ChannelMaster offset with Invacom LNB and Echostar AD3000
Thomson HD box single feed mode.

If you do get a dual feed LNB I suggest that you need to leave the HD box set to single feed.
I am in fringe conditions (Astra 2A south and 2B only) using 12.129V as the default transponder with a dual feed to my Thomson HD box.
With the new EPG(sky+8.3.2) I found that with box set to dual feed mode the epg did not automatically refresh the program listings - I had to do a fresh install every few hours. With the discovery of the single feed mode (from this thread) I tried setting the box to single feed mode and everything works perfectly!
Its still possible to record two channels simultaneously as before but the program listings now update automatically.
A welcome new feature of the new epg for fringe viewers is that changing channels can be done directly from the epg with no need to flip the channel change button up and down.

I have a few phone calls lately from customers about no signal or searching for listings.I tell them how to reset the default to 12.207 as this is one of the strongest for Cyprus. It seems that the 11.778v is weaker than usual and if anybody has a power cut during the day then it will not come back on.

Ok, this information is not true, the default transponder on the new HDEPG software is still 11778, V.
However I am now being informed that the EPG itself is broadcast from 11856, V..........
confused now.........
