Sky HD in Caravan

Hi,

I have recently had Sky HD installed in my home. I also have a touring caravan which we take our Sky with us when we go away.

We have never had a problem getting a signal or connecting up to Sky until now with this new HD box. When we first arrived on site I connected up and got the signal right away it all worked fine for the first night but now say's "No Satelite Signal Being Received", I have re-checked my dish position with a meter and taken the card out and cleaned, waited for two minutes un-plugged the box, all seem ok but no signal.

Having only had sky hd for two weeks at home is it possiable sky have turned off the signal to my hd box as there is no phone line connected.

Any idea's please

Regards

Grayo

Check the FTA channels, the fault message indicates that you are not getting a signal, so the dish/LNB/cabling is not right. Or it could be a fault receiver.

Hi Robbo,

Thanks for the reply. I have no FTA channels I have re-lined up the dish and I have two cables going into the back, so it looks like another faulty box. This is the third box in two weeks. Do you think it's anything to do with not having a phone line connected.

As I said it worked fine Saturday night and all day Sunday, but went off Sunday night and is still off. I have unpluged it and got it working again but only for about ten min's.

Regards

Grayo

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

The phone line is irrelevant to the operability of the box .

Even if you upset Sky they can do nothing that prevents reception of Free to Air Channels.
