Samsung HD box-new menu ?

Should the Samsung HD box have the new menu/epg list ?
I have seen the updated menus on the Thomsons but I went to a customer today and they have the usual menu on their Samsung.(PS the epg will not advance to more than 6 hours so they can't use planner or series link)

My System: 1.25m offset dish for Astra2 28deg., 1.2m dual feed for Astra1 and Hotbird, Thomson Sky HD, Humax HDCI2000, Dragon CAM, Invacom 0.3 twin lnb, Dell Dimension 4400 and Inspiron 1525, 1 meg broadband

As far as I know only the Thomson and Pace boxes have received the update.

My System: Manhattan Plaza 450 fitted with PVR, motorised 1 metre dish, Universal lnb.

My Samsung Sky HD box, made in Mar 2009, was fitted around 6 weeks ago. The engineer updated the software as part of the installation but commented that the new menu/epg would catch up with me shortly.
Basically I have the Sky+ menu / epg system which works correctly, but does not have looks of the new screens I've seen on friend's HD boxes.
I've forced updates every week since, at various times of the day / night, but the menu / epg remains as before.
Do I understand that there is a problem with the Samsung boxes and until their basic software is sorted out, we will not be able to have the updated menu system? If so then it's a bit sneaky of Sky to carry on installing this make of box with a known problem on it. Hopefully I have misunderstood the thread and that the new menu / epg is simply not being streamed at the time that I force updates.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

Samsungs should get the new epg upgrade later in the year.

From what Ive seen on the DS forum the new s/w is buggy on some boxes so you are probably better off with the old system!

Many thanks, that's the impression I got! I'll sit back and wait for it to come to me now rather than keep chasing something which might cause more problems!
