Sky HD abroad?

i wonder if anyone could help me with a few questions as re getting sky HD abroad.

how difficult is it to do this? do i understand right the HD box needs to be connected to a phone line in the UK and sky actually keep an eye on this? or is there a way round this, ie. if i have a mate in the uk who buys sky HD is there a way he can then send the box and card to me?

obviously i could use some agent on the net to buy the thing but looks pretty expensive and don't particularly trust these firms...

also, do i need a new LNB for the sky HD or does it work with my old one?

is there any particular HD box that is good for fringe reception btw?

any help much appreciated!
