My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

No and No.

AFAIK the HD channels are included with whatever package you subscribe to when you pay the extra for HD.

Although many people don't like $ly's offering of HD receiver it's really the only way to receive HD. Any other receiver is a lot of pain and frustration as $ly don't want you to use anything but their equipment.
