Thanks for the offer saemoenl.
I am not residing in the UK, so unfortunately I can't help you to do things from the UK.
You are welcome to give more details about the cost of Sky Italia Mondo+Cinema + Classica option, including the receiver.

FYI,
Sky TG24 and Sky Meteo24 are no longer free-to-air!
This morning they were scrambled in Videoguard and are now available only to Sky Italia subscribers.
Also the price of your Sky Italia sub will be taking a nasty €4 - €5 rise p.m from January! This is due to the Italian Government doubling the rate of IVA (VAT) on satellite subscriptions from 10% to 20%.

Surely there must be someone out there who has a contact for a card at a reasonable price.

I will try from here ( Cyrpus ) and see how the subs are.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but Im just wondering why would you want to pay for a subscription that costs more than Sky Digital's at €51 for Mondo, Sport and Cinema? Also what are the Calcio channels?

EDIT: The translations of Mondo and Calcio are quite _http://freetranslation.com

My System: Covering 30W-105.5E range, two motors, C and Ku band. Various receivers/cards/cams/etc.

I've compared quality of the same HD channels offered by SKY and other operators. Visually, SKY channels have much better resolution, and less blockness.

Personally I like one channel from it - MTV GOLD, but

1. It's quality is very bad (352x576)
2. Even the basic package price, to which this channel belongs, is too high for 1 channel.

Why? Because I don't have the privilege of being able to subscribe to Sky UK (some people might say: lucky you), and so I am looking for a package that I can enjoy in Israel.
I don't need sport of football, so just the Mondo + Cinema would have worked well for me.
But this package is problematic because of the need to match card+receiver, also you run into the risk of your card becoming non functional if the provider finds out that the card is working outside Italy.
The price outside Italy is quite expensive.
No package is worth 15% more than the cost in the respective country. Unfortunately some people are willing to pay as much as the shop asks and so keep the price always high.

No need to worry about matching card and receiver m8, a sky italia card will work in any sky italia box, even for premium channels.
And they'll never find out you're in Israel unless you tell them!

How do you come to the conclusion that Sky UK is cheaper???? 6 mixes with Sports and Movies costs me €69.50 pm.
Calcio channels are football ppv channels but also come as an extra package on their own for around €15 extra pm.

The basic channel price is €16.37 pm (soon to rise to €19.99 pm) which I don't believe is too high. This is for any two Sky Italia mixes plus the news mix free. Pretty good value in this day and age me thinks.

Well, the world package for Sky Digital is £46 in the UK. I didnt know anything about the Calcio channels, hence the question. Today £46 is €53.9605 according to the yahoo currency converter.

Sky Italia subscription increase by 22%

Sky Italia hikes subs fees 22%

Expect price in the UK for Mondo+Sport+Calcio to cost over 1200 Pounds soon.

That's a very misleading article full of errors you've linked to there my friend.
These are the facts.
The top tier package of Mondo + Cinema + Sport + Calcio which currently costs €68.72 pm is rising to €69pm, a 28 cent rise, far from the €97 quoted.
The 'mid-point tier', example Mondo + Cinema, which currently costs €42.54 pm is rising to €43 pm, a 46 cent rise, far from the 8.7% and €35 quoted.
The base package which your link quotes as rising from €23 to €28 pm is actually rising from the current €28.37 pm to €29.90 pm, a rise of €1.53 pm.
The 'misura' package of any 2 mixes plus news is going up from €16.37 to €19.90 and is the only package that comes remotely near the percentages quoted in the linked article.

Well for the extra €1.04 per month one gets 3pm premiership football on saturday afternoons plus all of the games previously shown by setanta sports, now of course going to ESPN as PPV. So if you're a sports fan then Sky Italia is good value. Also no monthly charge for HD.

Thank you denis1501 for clearing this up to us.
I am not concerned about the cost in Italy, subscribers can take it or leave it (regarding subscription), but the problem would be with the middle men who will take advantage of this increase and offer a more ridiculous prices in the UK and other countries in Europe. Just wait and see.

The most that any dealer should charge in my opinion is around 1000 euros for the top package, that would be €828 in subscription fees (69 x12), say 70 euros for the decoder and 100 euros dealers fee. Would you agree?

Yes denis, this sounds about right.
As the increase is not that high according to your calculations, then perhaps the shops would be content with their current prices.

Hi all I am from Malta.Whoever had the doubt of illegal subscriptions...I confirm that it is illegal.
I am searching for a subscription to sky Italia Mondo + Cinema + Sport + Calcio + 6 channels (optional)
The prices I found till now cost more than 2000Eur.
It's really madness to buy at such a price.
I was considering of travelling to Sicily for that price and arrange something there.Unless in here there is nobody who can sort this out for me.
Se ci sono Italiani in questo forum posso parlare anche in Italiano.
Grazie
