Sky Italia Package

I started to look for a good subscription alternative on Hot Bird to TPS (supposed to vanish early next year)

Started to consider the Sky Italia package and it looks like it will do the job.

I have been looking almost a month now for a reliable supplier at a reasonable price (low Rip Off Rate) without any success.

Still waiting for an offer from Italy, and if it is good, then I will post the info in this thread.

In this post there are the usual package details page and then the Sky Italia channels list (with frequencies, package option, etc.)

Wow you got your subscription from a greek shop ? Aren't there any italian shops around ?

I had read of http://stores.ebay.it/SUONIMMAGINE_S...-TV_W0QQfsubZ8 in a german board 2 years ago having nice prices and service. It doesn't seem that they still offer any subscriptions anymore. Maybe the italian law is stricter than before.

Thank you for your input. Very helpful.

Can you please let us know the model number and make of the receiver ?
I suppose it is made by Pace but I need the model number.

Do you own the receiver, or do you need to send it back if you stop the subscription after 12 months ?

There is a big difference between the subscription cost in Italy and the price list from where you got your's. Hope that they were flexible.

Update on the Mondo Package

Beginning 1st October, Sky Italia has a more flexible entry level of 15 Euro/month with the Mondo package which costs before this date 24 Euro/month.

Now there are five category options:

Entertainment
Documentry
Children
Music and Teens
News

One can subscribe to any ONE category from the list and get the News option for free at 15 Euro/month.
Choosing two or more categories would bring the price back again to 24 Euro/month for the whole package.

Also, in order to subscribe to the other options: Cinema, Sport or Calcio one has to pay the 24 Euro/month for the Mondo plus the cost of the extra options.

To the best of my knowledge, the films have dual sound, Italian and the original language.
I am still struggling to buy it, so if you succeed, please post details of the shop that can sell it to subscribers outside Italy, at a reasonable price above what it costs someone living in Italy.

You can try buying it from satworld.gr in Greece.
They didn't answer my e-mail message, but maybe you will have better luck as a neighbour.

Need Help with Sky Italia Subscription

Till now, I didn't have much luck in buying a subscription to Sky Italia Mondo + Cinema package.
In Italy, the Mondo is 24 Euro/month and the Cinema option is 12 Euro/month, including the dedicated NDS receiver.
Total is 36 Euro/month or 432 Euro/year.

Websites in the UK are asking for over 1000 pounds for this package + a big deposit on the receiver, and they demand that the receiver to be returned if the subscription is not renewed.
Other websites in other countries will not ship to countries outside the EU.
There is a limit to how much one can pay for this outside Italy.

So if anybody can help with this, I would be very grateful.
It has to be a reliable shop with a physical address and with a reasonable profit margin.
When TPS disappears in few months, there will a great demand for an alternate package and Sky Italia is a good alternative.

I have plenty of fun in the sun here.
Interesting about buying the package in the supermarket. Surely if this is true, then it is only possible if one has an Italian address and Italian ID.
It is more logical to try to buy it in a satellite shop.
Can you please give more information about this?

My System: 1.25m offset dish for Astra2 28deg., 1.2m dual feed for Astra1 and Hotbird, Pace V3 Sky + box, Humax HDCI2000, I-Can 2000T (digital terrestrial) Dragon CAM, Invacom 0.3 twin lnb, Dell Dimension 4400, 1 meg broadband

Thought I might bring this thread back to life!
Sky Italia HD is now just €99 for existing customers! Yes, buy your new HD box (e.g Pace) for €99 and inside you'll find a code. Call Sky Italia quoting this code and they will switch on your HD channels and give you a months free viewing as well!
Or, if you like, Sky Italia will give you a box (which will remain their property) free of charge but it will still cost €99 to activate the HD.
The best part is they have dropped the monthly charge! Excellent stuff.

regards
D.

Calling SKY Italia from outside Italy isn't that risky ? Further on the biggest problem is for people to find a SERIOUS dealer.

Exactly, but since people from outside Italy have written in this post they should not be ignored.

Sky italia Subscription Price List

Found this info in their monthly guide magazine.
Mondo+Cinema or Mondo+Sport or Mondo+Calcio costs 39 Euro/Month (468 Euro/Year)
Mondo+Sport+Calcio cost 51 Euro/month (612 Euro/year)
This should include the cheapest NDS receiver, but add activation cost ~ 50 Euro
DON'T be tempted to pay almost twice as much as it cost in Italy.

Hello,

I read somewhere that people in MALTA can legally obtain SKY ITALIA, b/c it's like their home pay-tv package or something. I am not sure and asked about this in astra2d fringe malta thread here.
Would you please investigate further and come back with news?
Even if not, there may be some SERIOUS DEALERS in Malta.

How would that help us to get a subscription?
Even if it is legal in Malta (which I doubt), then they still wouldn't take the risk and sell a subscription to someone living in the UK or the Middle East.
What we really need is a serious dealer in the UK who is willing to sell a Sky Italia subscription at a reasonable profit and not up to or >100%.
No subscription is worth that much.
As we all know that Mondo+Cinema costs 39 Euro (Plus initial setup charges), then there is a limit to how much we are willing to pay for such a subscription.
They also play a dirty game with the receiver as you have to pay a hefty deposit and return it if you don't renew the subscription.
The receiver is worth no more than 50 euro. Just the shipping charges would cost more.

No idea, but I can hardly keep up with my local bank monthly charges so I will give opening a bank account in Malta a miss.

All we want is a reasonably priced subscription to Sky Italia. So if anybody has any brilliant ideas about how to get it, then please post here.

If any of our site sponsors can oblige, then they are welcome to offer such a subscription at a reasonable cost. There are quite few members who might be interested.
