Question Sky italy card on DM 8000, what should I know?

Hi,
I ordered a Sky italy subscription card (mondo+cinema) online.
I want to use it on a Dreambox DM 8000.
How could I set up the box to view the package?

I searched around and learned that the internal readers will fry the card.
so could it be used with a CI cam? or is it not possible?
Is it better to use a smargo card reader?
Do the card need to be in the official decoder for updates?

Please be patient with this newbie

Well

Nobody really is sure what is going to be happening in the near future, certainly sky are doing their upmost to ensure that the consumer uses their equipment. The following threads may help, however I have not yet seen confirmation that they do work in a DM8000

My System: Dreambox with PLi-Emerald 1.09 image, Matrix revolution CAS, newcamd emu, movable dish 0.85 m, very happy indeed

I believe that they do work, but you have to use newcs as a card server, the same as with the new white card in the UK. Try to google around with "sky italia newcs" and I'm sure it'll turn up some useful links.

I understand that cccam2.1/newcs will reduce the voltage of the internal card readers to that of the card. but is it safe on the long run?
Maybe it is better to get a smargo to protect the "investment" .

What about the updates? can it happen without the official box?
