What to do with old Sky Box?

I have taken up a return to Sky offer ('free' Sky+ box, min. 12 month contract) and was wondering what to do with my spare Sky box after the Sky+ box has been fitted?
Can I use it in another room with my old Sky card and receive fta channels if connected direct to the lnb?
