Thompson sky+ planner without subscription ?

Is there anyway that I can use the sky+ planner/epg without paying the £10 subscription ?

I read that the pace 3100 can be modified to do this, can this be done to the Thompson DSI 8210CS.

Cheers
Don...

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

As far as Im aware no-one has ever proved theres any way of fixing the boxes. There are rumours certainly, but no proof.

Presumably you are using the box as an ftv box and paying the tenner to keep the record feature. If so why not switch to a Freesat PVR?

Sky+ box Vs freesat PVR

In answer, I got the $ky+ box for free and the freesat PVR boxes are expensive at £290 a pop. The second point is that I am using it in spain and cannot get channel five on a freesat box (its on a transponder which is on the very fringe of Torrevieja) whereas I can get it with a $ky+ box and a sky viewing card.
