AV Sender Problem

I received an AV Sender for Christmas so that I could watch Sky in my bedroom. Setting up was fine, there was no interference and the picture/sound quality is good.

I can only get a decent reception on two of the four channels available on the AV sender and I do use the IR eye which enables use of the remote control on the TV in my bedroom.

However I do have a problem in that there is obviously some interference from a neighbour who must have a similar product as they are able to control my TV and I can control theirs - this is obviously very annoying when I am watching TV and they keep turning my channel over!!

Any suggestions on how this can be prevented would be gratefully received please?

Thanks

It would help if you can give us the exact make and model number of the AV sender.

Its TOTAL Control and it doesn't have a model number - it was bought from Argos if that helps you?

Thanks

I am assuming that you had a chat with your neighbour. Check if he really has the exact model AND if their unit is what is causing the problem, and not another microwave gadget.

I can't find the user guide or the spec anywhere.
See if there is a way to change the frequencies of the transmission, instead of the default values.
failing that, see if you can exchange it for another unit from a different make.
Also make it less sensitive so it doesn't have the maximum range of the specified distance of 70m. Might need to fiddle with the antennae.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

In the UK these things all work in a small band so interference if there are a few of them around is common. If its a 2.4GHz box you might have to think about swapping it for a 5.8GHz unit. These are quite new so there are likely to be less of them around.
