My System: sky plus, multiroom
one card two boxes

I have sky multiroom (for two boxes). 3 sky plus boxes and 2 viewing cards.

My primary system is fine, My original box only works through one channel, so I picked up a third system that works OK.

I am about to pair my viewing card to the new system.
My second system is now located in a caravan, and can pickup some free channels without a viewing card. However is there a way to take the multiroom card that was originally on it and use it to get my full channel line up.. e.g . if I could spoof the serial numbers on the sky boxes so they are the same. I do not need a new card as I can just carry the sky card with me to the caravan but I dont want to carry the whole sky+ box....

Is there any other options? third multiroom another 10 per month? is that possible and would sky insist on installing?

Hello

Welcome to the forum les_sky

No sorry there is no easy way otherwise we would all be doing it......... The only possible solution is to card share, but this involves buying dreamboxes and is therefore not cheap. You would not however share with your caravan unless it had either a CAT5 network cable from the house supplying the feed, or an internet connection at all times in the van.

Multiroom is not possible as all boxes on one sub MUST be connected to the SAME operational phone line at all times. The boxes dial home periodically (once a month or so) to prove that they are located at the same address.

I've had sky tv for years and the phone line is never ever connected. It works just fine.

Exactly you have had it for years but the first 12 months, the contract stipulates you must have it connected to a phone line, after that it does not matter. If he o/p took out multi-room it would be a new contract!

My System: Dreambox 800 Nabilo Blackhole v1.0/250 Gig/ Dreambox 500s-(clone) PLi Jade/ Relook 400s 160 Gig-/SifTeam 1.93 e enigma Foretec 90cm Dish with Nikkai Diseqc Motor- 2 sky+ receivers fixed 28.2 east.

A box can be paired to any number of cards but a card an only be paired to 1 sky box at any one time.
As you already have multi room you will know as has already been stated that all Boxes in a multi room sub must be connected to a working phone line at all times or else the full price is paid for each sub. That is the rule! But none of my boxes (4) have been connected to a phone line for almost 2 years now and I have never been billed the extra. I know that others have so its a try and see risk.

As to just carrying the card to the caravan, yes you can do this but as i said cards are paired to only one sky box and it will not show you premium channels(sports & movies). However if you put a dreambox or similar in your caravan your house card will get all the channels at the caravan. 2 friends of mine have used one of the site sponsors, _linuxsat.co.uk and have been pleased with their produts and service.
