My System: 30W,7W,13E,16E,19E & 28E Dishes everywhere Darkbox 2008HD Sly+ V3

It will probably be capacitors in the power supply or the hard drive.
As your in the UK repair should be easy enough but maybe not cost effective.

Good luck

My System: Sky+ HD, TM-3500 D+ USB PVR, CD Total (FI)

have you tried pressing the SKY button on remote instead of power on? I've had similar thing happen before, but pressing SKY turned on the receiver.

That's what I've always done when ours has had a funny turn.

Takes a few minutes to reboot the system but has always worked for us.

Is it connected to a working phone line? If it isn't I was wondering if this is why it's having a hissy fit.

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

I'd love to take it off your hands but I'd be severely discomknackerated if I brought another "box of junk" into the house as a project!

Thumbs up

do a full system reset that cures 90% off sky +

turn mains plug off
hold down the left and right buttons on the navigation circal (the buttons which are up downleft right ) on front off box
turn power back on
keep holding the buttons untill the play light comes on
now press select on front off sky box and let go off buttons

the light will flash wait for 5 mins and it should be all back on

try it before letting it r.i.p
