Free to Air.

Hello,

I have Sly+ but have just bought a 'Free to air' cheapy from Aldi for my bedroom.
My question is.- is it possible to connect it to my original dish without runnung an extra cable down from the dish, or have I to install the 'free to air dish' in other words what 'options' do I have ?
I thankyou in advance for your help.
Barrie.

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

You can't split a feed so an additional cable fed from a spare output on your Sky Dish is the only sensible way.

If there isn't a spare output, you'll have to upgrade the LNB to a Quad or Octo.

Easy.

Cheap.

In the meantime, if you want to get to grips with your new toy, connect one of your Sky+ feeds to it.

Edit: Actually, did you get the 45cm toy dish with the Aldi Receiver? If so, you can play with that and get stuff like Astra 1, Hotbird, Atlantic Bird 3 and no doubt a few more.

Thankyou for your answer Gordon, I thought that might be the only way, I reckon I'll just have to lead another cable down as my exsisting dish is a Quad so there is two spare plugs on it, but being 71 I thought that there might be another way to save me climbing the ladder again.
Thanks a lot Barrie.

Sorry!

No way around it, I'm afraid.
