Sky+ in France

We live in France & have paid the monthly dues to Rupert & co for years for our basic Sky subscription. We are thinking about upgrading to Sky+ but always get nervous about getting busted (as we were once) How easy is it to upgrade & will we need to have a telephone connection to use the recording facility?

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Buy a Sky+ on the internet and then you do not need to have the phone line connected, but you will need to phone Sky to get it activated.

Can you recommend a Sky+ box? What do think about this Pace model at http://www.thedigiboxshop.com/script...p?idproduct=91 ?
Is it true that you have to pay a minimum of £30 to Sky? We pay £21 right now

My System: PACE 430 (Radio Reception only to feed a SKY Gnome), PACE 3100 (PVR 2.5), ROI SKY 6 mixes, Technomate TM-1500 CI+, TM-6900 HD, 100 cm Triax (Sky), 80 cm Nokia with Motec SG-2100. MacBook and that's that.

Unfortunatly you must pay an additioninal £10 (or in Ireland €15) of the mix packages to be able to use the recording facility on Sky+ unless you subscribe to 2 premium channels or more...
