Sony RDR-HX900 & Freeview channels

I have the RDR-HX900 DVD recorder (new Jun 05) which is fed from SCART 3 on a Sony Bravia LCD TV. I cannot get any of the Freeview channels to register on the HX900 when tuning.
However, I can get the Freeview channels to register via Line 1 on my Sony SLV-SE800G VHS Recorder (new Jan 01) when it's connected the SCART 1 on the TV. When I swapped the SCARTs over and re-tuned, the DVD still refused to see Freeview. I suspect this is to do with the SCART setting in the video setup which I currently have set to Line 1 OUT (Video), Line 3 INPUT (Video/RGB) and Line 3 OUTPUT (Video). My Sky box is connected via TV SCART 2. I've tried various combinations using the 3 SCART connectors on the TV and this is the only one which gives all options but not to where they are wanted. I want to ditch the VHS recorder but without it, I can't record Freeview.
Does anyone have a clue why the HX900 won't record Freeview in this setup?

Hi - did you ever get this working? I have same problem - cannot see my Freeview channels and have to record using L1 and hit record button but cannot change channels during the recording process. I just wondered whether you had managed to get it working!

Thanks

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

Compaqrat hasn't been back to this site since 4th June 2006 - presumably to see if anyone had given him (her?) an answer - which they obviously hadn't.

What do you mean about the Freeview channels? I've done a quick Google on the RDR-HX900 and it appears to only have an analogue tuner. If the TV has built-in Freeview then, yes, you can only record the Freeview using the tuner in the TV.
