My System: Pace 2600 receiver, Channelmaster 1.8 m, Channelmaster feedhorn, Invacom C120 twin LNB | Location Alviano Italy - I've eventually managed to get reception on Tp 24, 12168 V, 27.5, 2/3, quality 70% strength 70%, but only when the LNB skew is set at max i.e. -40 deg, rather than the recommended -16 deg. However I cannot get channel 4 no matter what. I get a multitude of channels not worth watching, including channel 5, some radio stations including Yorks radio, but no Radio 1,2, 3 or 4. Can anyone advise why the LNB skew is so far out, is it possibly because the azimuth and elevation are not correctly adjusted? If the latter then why do I get such good strength and quality? Any advice gratefully received.

My System: Pace D2600 SkyBox IRTE 2.4m dish (Distorted) CM 1.2m dish + Feedhorn Invacom C120 Quad LNB HD Home Theater System | Hi Rod I live not too far away from you and have a 2.4m IRTE dish. I can only get Channel 4 during the day, with Channel 5, Radio 1,2,3,4 etc 24/7. However, I cannot get BBC1,2,3 etc. I set my LNB orientation for maximum output on Channel 4 with a skew from horizontal of about 12-14 degrees. I do not know why your get the best signal at 40 degrees. What instrument did you use to set up the system? PJG

My System: Pace 2600 receiver, Channelmaster 1.8 m, Channelmaster feedhorn, Invacom C120 twin LNB | PJG Thanks for the response and apologies for my tardy reply. I've been in Italy and without internet access for the past 2 weeks. I used a Digisat Pro meter and a digital compass to set the system up. Initially I was getting no reception despite the signal strength and quality showing in excess of 60% and it was only whilst mucking around that I found channels at maximum LNB skew. I'm becoming suspicious that I'm either still on the wrong satellite or the LNB and feedhorn are mismatched. This is all new territory to me and it may just be down to total ineptitude on my part. I've tried playing around with the LNB position again without success and I am now back in the UK trawling the internet for further info. I find it strange that I can get all Ch 5 options, Yorkshire radio and various other crap channels, but no Channel 4 nor Radio 1, 2, 3 or 4. I also think I'm going to have to arrange internet acess in Italy so that I can get help/advice whilst actually playing around with the setup. Anyway thanks again for your response, I'll let you know if I eventually succeed. Roddy

My System: motorised Gibertini 125+ fixed dish 72 stabHH120 lnb Sharp 0.4 Fortec Passion HD QUALI IRCI HDTV Homecast PVR 300 Digiscrappybox some CAMs some subscriptions | Roddyb, you got to say wich dish size you are using, it's by far much more important than LNB skew Aviano is eastern Italy so no surprise that you cannot easily get Astra2D channels, TP 12168V (Ch4 encrypted from freesatfromsky) is on Astra2A so obviously you can get it, TP 10729V (Ch4 fta from freesat) in on 2D I suggest a 180 cm dish to get it I'm very surprised pjgregory cannot get Astra2D (BBC, ITV, etc.) from there with a 2.4m IRTE dish, I have heard many reports from Friuli receiving all Astra2D channels with 180 cm dish... ![]()

My System: Pace D2600 SkyBox IRTE 2.4m dish (Distorted) CM 1.2m dish + Feedhorn Invacom C120 Quad LNB HD Home Theater System | Hi All Roddyb - from one of your other posts you say you have a CM 1.8m dish, Invacom C120 with CM feedhorn and Pace 2600C receiver. The Invacom C120 quad seems to be the best (see posts by SNAP) and the CM feedhorn is designed for the CM range of of dishes. As I said, I get Channel 4 during the day, Radio 1,2,34, etc all day long. I know that my 2.4m dish is warped so I may be getting less gain than you are. Dave Branson at Poggibonsi reports Astra 2D with a 1.9m IRTE prime focus dish. So we have Poggibonsi 1.9m P/F 44db All OK Montefollonico 2.4m P/F < 46db Channel 4 daytime + Radio Alviano 1.8m P/F 45.5db No Channel 4 - No BBC Radio Looking at the map, I am some 62Km SE of Dave, while you are about 133km away. It is clear that we are at the edge of the fringe area so dishes about 2m are not really cutting it. I am currently looking at 3.2m or even 3.8m prime focus as the next step. MODERATOR: - Is there anyway I can contact Dave Branson and Roddyb. I know I cannot post my email or telphone number and I cannot send private messages for a month. I would be quite happy to take my spectrum analyser over to them to get some measurements to find out what is really happening. PJG

I am sure everyone appreciates you are being helpful unfortunately the rule has to be enforced owing to the PM system being abused previously. Why not fill out your Vcard then when anyone clicks on your profile they can contact you

My System: Pace 2600 receiver, Channelmaster 1.8 m, Channelmaster feedhorn, Invacom C120 twin LNB | JPG How do I access your e-mail address? When I click on the profile it doesn't give any obvious (to me) info on the e-mail address. I am quite happy to make contact with you by e-mail now, or by phone when I return to Italy next week. I've also ticked the Vcard box in my profile, so if you can find my e-mail address please get in touch. Roddy
