My System: Outside the uk in frindge area with pace receiver and 1.25 offset dish
Question Two Dish setup

First posting.

I am in Bulgaria and trying to get the bbc and itv channels on a sky box, pace, which are proving very difficult. It has been suggested that a 3.5 mt dish is needed, i use a 1.25 gibbatini which gets about 85% of all channels. Trying to get hold of a dish this size has two big problems, one the very high price of purchase and then the high price to have it imported. I have been told that it is possible to connect two dishs's that stand side by side together. My question is this will this work and if so what equipment is needed.

Thanks to all

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

No it won't work I'm afraid, whilst it is possible to combine the feeds from several dishes, the equipment is prohibitively expensive and you would require more than two dishes of that size. There are a couple of threads about this from the past year and longer.

My System: Technomate TM1000D Receiver. Stab H-H90 motorised Triax TD110 dish 42E to 30W. Inverto Silvertech 0.2 LNBF. Fortec.star 90cm fixed on 26E.DigitAlB movies. A Bigsat BS-S77CX and a Sky Dodgibox

Hi, Welcome to satellites,

It would not be possible to increase the overall gain sufficiently with two 1.25m dishes to equal that of a 3.5m one. You would need about 7 of them. Apart from that it would be very difficult to get the phases of all the signals aligned properly. I imagine the equipment needed even if it was possible would cost more than the 3.5m dish that you say you need. Give it up a as a bad job m8.
