BBC costa del sol ok

Hi everyone,

just to let you know that I still have bbc here in Spain (benalmadena costa) and I have not touched a thing yet. Has it really changed over ? I wonder what I have done or not done to deserve this !

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Sounds good Gigaman, what is your setup, without that information the post really doesn't tell us too much.

My System: 4 systems. In Scotland Sky with Pace 2600C1. In Costa del Sol 1.3 meter offset with Inv quad 0.3 LNB with pace 2600C1. In Algarve 1.5 fixed Inv Quad LNB with 4 Pace 2600C1 also 80cm dish with Inverto 0.2db monoblock LNB 19.2E/13E and TM_5400C1+ USB

I also have all BBC channels in Estepona on the Costa del Sol. So do about 10 of my friends. all have panasonics and 1.2 meter dishes but none will go on their roofs to find the make of LNB.

if you've got it, you've got it

there is a side-lobe of 2d in the cost del sol basically meaning you get a much higher signal in your area . very similar in strength if you lived in northern france or northern europe, so think yourself lucky you live there..

i dont think there is anywhere else in spain that has one. stockholm in sweden and oslo, norway are two others.

thanks

BBC

Hi,

We are on the Costa del Sol too,70k East of Malaga airport, all is OK here with the BBC channels.

We have a Panasonic DSB30 with a 1.2 metre dish using the BBC viewing card, all channels received OK,after speaking to numerous friends using comparable systems they are OK too,

I have a 1.2 m dish also with an amstrad DRX300 receiver and a free bbc card. I wonder if the head of the BBC has a villa here ? We should consider ourselves very lucky, but how long do you think it will last ?

side-lobes are like random hot spots, and therefore not in sky's control. so they should last as long as the satellite is up.. im also lucky cos i live near stockholm

so stop worrying and go watch the beeb

Side lobes, surely thats what Elvis Presley had,or has,Because i have seen him on the paseo at Los Boliches, but to get to the point! Alan Sugar (Amstrad) has a villa on the costa del sol,I know because the person that installed his sky dishes bought them from me........I believe he uses a panasonic dsb30!!...brian
