Question Question

This may sound like a stupid question but...how come the TV guide (Astra 2D channels BBC1/2 et al) at the bottom of the screen show what's on when the signal above it says there's no signal being received?

Is there any hope for me south of Rome???

Thanks and apologies if it's a stupid question.
