Question SKY Italia

I am considering subscribing to SKY Italia in Italy using my parents address in Italy.
It is my intention to then bring the system (dish, receiver and card) back to the UK and install it in my house in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear.

Would I then be able to view Sky Italia from the UK?
What if I buy the receiver and dish in the UK and requested only the viewing card from SKY Italia?

During installation in Italy the receiver is linked to the phone line. Is this a way for SKY Italia to find out if the receiver is in fact located in Italy and therefore disable viewing from outside Italy?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Paolo.

Hi Paolo,
The receiver is linked to the phone line for authorization only if you are using NDS or a Goldbox to the best of my knowledge. But there is no obligation for it to be permanantly connected.
If you are using a common interface decoder and an Aston CAM (Seca 2) then the card is authorized over the air.
There is no way Sky Italia can know you are in the UK.
regards
D.

Hi! I am an Italian in Italy,I've got Sky England for many years and recently I subscribed to Sky Italia because the watershed limit for the films is a big nuisance for the British public (and me). Naturally I have 2 dishes and two different decoders. The sky Italia decoder is a common interface one with a seca 1 cam module ;I am not connected to the telephone line, the card is not married to my decoder:(I can use it in another decoder) I received the card at home by mail after a few days I signed the contract,Then I phoned sky italia and I had to communicate the number of the card, the number of the contract, and my identity data;I had to tune to sky assist program with the card inserted and let the decoder on for 24 hours. Done. Unfortunately with the present sistem, the EPG program list is quite primitive, and Sky films are usually transmitted in a letterbox format that is too small even for my 16:9 tv set. Maybe next year will be available the sky set top box in use in England and even Sky +.By L.L.
