Question Bad reception on Channel U (Sky 467)

Is anyone else experiencing bad reception on channel 467?
I get jerky digitised images and sound intermittently (every few secs!).
It used to be okay, but has recently shown the above symptoms.
I receive all other channels without problem.
I have removed my sat card, and makes no difference.

Would a damaged satellite cable cause the above symptoms (ie affect a specific channel)?
By the way, reception at a friends house a mile away is perfect.

Any help much appreciated.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Check here http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/skyuk.shtml and see what other channels you can get on this beam without the pixellation, it comes from Eurobird on the Europe NW beam.

It may be that your dish is just slightly off beam, might be worth trying your friend's receiver on your dish..

Spot on rolfw !!
I get similar pixelization on other eurobird progs (very useful weblink).

My next question, which of these is the most likely culprit? And can I rule any of the following out?

1.faulty LNB
2.dish allignment
3. damaged co-ax cable?

Can I re-align the disc myself?
I have a spare sat cable running to dish (for future sky+ use). I will try and use that co-ax first, beforehand.

Thanks for your help.

If its only Eurobird channels that are problematic, then maybe the dish needs slight adjusting left or right.Try pushing the dish slightly with your hand on either side and see if the picture improves.if not check connections,if not try new lnb.

Where are you situated? What size of dish are you using?

It may be that you need a larger dish if you are outside of the normal footprint for Eurobird.

I am situated in W. London, and I have the standard sky minidish with single LNB. It used to work fine, and then I started getting the pixeliisation. Still havent got round to swapping my spare sat cable. Although I suspect dish/alignment or lnb is causing my problem. Will keep u posted.
