My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Not sure whether vBulletin software caters for that, but even if it does, it probably also has embedded advertising.

I swear I've seen it on other vB boards before. When I get a little time I'll go searching for examples and reports back.

My System: Philips 42" Plasma TV, Amstrad Sky digibox, XC Cube windows media centre PC.

you only need part of the embed code, just take the code in red from the embed code youtube give you-

Code:
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/e7ilbC4kJhY"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/e7ilbC4kJhY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
and insert the following BB code when you post your message-

Code:
[tube*]e7ilbC4kJhY[/tube]
dont include * !!!
and it should work

Keep in mind that a blogger recently had a 'Cease and Desist' notice handed to him for link-throughs to youtube footy clips. [read: kettle of worms].

Saying that, I don't give a hoot. This is great for the Jokes section.

Thanks Chris , rolf (for asking) and to Salty (for posing) - sorry (posing the Q)

The worst they can do is to ask us to remove any specific content and if they do, we disable the hack, effectively removing it. Easy as that.

Not being horrid to you - BUT, do you read other posts or just type your own after reading the title? What did I say an hour before you? Is there DSL lag in your area?

Rolf: still a can 'o worms, ;-))

On the rights issue, I don't really see that being a major problem. Much apart from the fact that the videos in question would be held on YouTube, and all that we would be posting is a link, I can't really see anyone causing that much of a fuss - including sports highlights, which seem prevalent throughout YouTube.

Well as I said earlier, if we are requested to remove live links or embedded video because of copyright, we will. The whole facility or parts of it can be easily and almost instantaneously removed.

I would think it would work like this...

The copyright hold complains to YouTube - they remove the video

The link doesn't work any more.

No problem?

I see that Utube the steel company are to sue YouTube after their site has repeatedly been off line due the hits from user typing the wrong address.
They have turned down 1 million dollars for the domain.

LOL, yes they want a huge amount of money to set up a new website, not out for a quick buck at all.

UTube.com was registered in 1996 and UniversalTube.com in 1999 [funny that]

Cheeky Universal Secondhand Tubey Whatits. Surely the judge will laugh this out of court. They made alternative arrangements seven years ago - the universaltube.com address is very much active to this day.

Lost business my ass. I wouldn't be suprised me if the server crashes on universaltube.com since it is now all over the news.

OT: but I am looking forward to Apples iTV next year and what shenanigans will happen with ITV, et al.

Fact is the bloke and his blog were doing service to footy fans all over the globe. He only published links to content on YouTube (which I *guess* would show up like the code used here; i.e. first frame of clip??).

He even published all the 'Cease & Disist' emails from the media rights people.

I am sure rolf is right, in that, If sats.uk was asked to cease [?] - rolf would be on the case before they had even sent their first email, lol.

I believe this chap was a little more stubborn - claiming that he was not hosting the content, but only providing links, tralala. When I looked on his site (the day of the news story) - there were no links.

Frightening those lawyer types aren't they, hehe.

it has nothing to do with what bb system you are using, admin just need to enable html for a certain forum, or there is a plugin that put a box in this reply section so a user can post the url and the plugin will auto embed
