My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

They were rebuilding the databases, hence the errors, should be OK now.

Could have done if I'd known about it, but it was emergency repairs by the server manager.

Some will have noticed some errors yesterday, particularly with the Arcade, well apparently it all went tits up earlier, hence the emergency rebuild.

I haven't done databases for a few years, but, surely there must be a way of scheduling a rebuild in the early hours of the morning, I think DigitalSpy do that somehow (well, I know the site goes off for an hour or so at about 4am from my odd few night owl phases last year!!), maybe you could do the same here...

What I mean is that with regular rebuilds (say, once a week), emergency rebuilds wouldn't be needed...

They are required if there is a corruption.

There are loads of cron jobs going on at different times of the month, including full backups and these are done at the slowest periods for the forum, but there will always be the odd crisis which requires immediate attention.

Rather you than me then, I hate software, that's why I only build computers and not program them....

This must be the hottest thread this hour - my email is chirping every other minute!

Listen, I only posted this Q because I thought T_G was up to something, LOL.

If there is an emergency in prime-time - so be it. Channel Five get away with it, hehe.

...... Now where is he lurking? .....

Tad deep there TOPPER.

Twas a mere glitch in the proceedings - at totally the wrong time - for people that have nothing better to do than say 'DB Down'.

Note: it was a thread posted by ME.
