Two questions

Hi friends,

In the portuguese section there are two questions being made, that refers to the forum:

- 1st : Is it possible for Regular Members to have more than one image in their signature ?

- 2nd : What happened to the number of Thanks that were in our profile ?

In the afternoon I tried to enter the forum, but it was in Maintenance and then the posts were kind of different with our Avatars and Profile being on the horizontal and not vertical as usual; as well as new add-up below My System with "nick system spec". These in the meantime disappeared.

Thanks

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Ist Upped to 2 images.

2nd, we apologise for the loss of the Thanks data, it was a casualty of the essential security upgrade, we're not sure how it happened and unfortunately 24 hrs or so have passed since the upgrade, so to bring the thanks back would mean reverting to a a database backup, which would lose at least the last 24hrs posts (around 1000) and in the region of 200 new members.

Thanks rolfw,

For the first question, this was due to this members post:
http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellit...tml#post598614

He tried to insert 2 images, but couldn't; and reported the message that he was only allowed to use one image.
Images include the use of smilies, a tag [img] do vB code e tags <img> HTML.

As for the second answer I'm sure everyone will understand this situation.

Regards

Yes, it is unfortunate and the mods and sections leaders will be some of the worst affected by the loss, as they were carrying some huge thanks tallies. But at the end of the day, we all know who is helpful and posts useful information, even without the running tally.

I had over a hundred thank yous and although it is nice to be appreciated i couldn't care less about the thank you feature, i find it useless really. As for the signature feature i'm really glad one can turn it off.
Hey, congrats on the new forum look, love it!

Yeah , I agree that it's always nice to be appreciated and the Thanks button does facilitate the develpoment of a thread (because we can just click the Thanks button, instead of thanking by return post, leading to a dreadfully long thread, full of thank-you posts).

But this is a previlage that may also lead to some comic situations, like the one who requests help gets a Thanks and the one who helps doesn't. Or one may help and get 60 thanks while others get none.

So, everythings fine with us with Thanks or no Thanks. Just like rolfw says at the end we already know who helps for the pleasure of it.

And the new forum skin was quite a surprise. I also like it, although the green bright colour of Section Leaders nick does get almost invisible in this light blue skin.
Is there any possibility to darker a bit the green colour for Section Leaders , or even change to a darker colour ? I don't know if the Administrators agree on this. It's a suggestion.

Regards

LOL, yes, was the only colour I could use and as Big Ted hasn't been on for a few months, I thought he could have the lime green colour intead.

Yeah, but how come Sophia gets to keep her 86 thanks's
?
Is it because she is purple?
I vote we zero all the thanks and start again from scratch( I think I had 150 thanks, give or take a couple )

Sophia has gained those thanks since the accidental deletion of ALL repeat ALL thanks records.
