There is a heavy lift Ariane 5 launch this evening from Kourou in French Guiana. It will be carrying JCSat-12 for Japan and Optus D3 for Australia. I never tire of watching them - they are always great. Back when I was on dial up it could be a frustrating experience - more than once the rocket went from zero to several hundred feet in the air in two frames! | ||

She had to be ditched. NSS 8 was the most spectacular - the Sea Launch rocket blew up on the launchpad! The best ever coverage was Hotbird 6 - an on board camera allowed us to ride the rocket into space | ||
