Looks like the Technomate HD is out on 17Th September with a price tag of £299 for the DVB-S / T combo model.

It's looks like a upgrade from the TM1000D with not too many things to offer

compare this with similarly priced / technically spec'd receivers you will know the difference.

No Linux
No internal HDD support
No ethernet port
No support for 4:2:2 feeds
Ugly looking

Regarding suppport, one will have to wait and watch

I believe the Quali receiver does 4:2:2 and it can be bought for as low as 220 euros.

Check out the responses of some of the users on this thread

Anyways I hope you will be happy with your purchase.

Which one of the 2 did you buy and for how much?

First of all the major HD channels Bbc and Premier plus national geograhic were easy to scan in, so far ive managed to clear 10 HD channels including a couple of promos.

Darkmans patch and diablo cam both work well, Kabel Duetchland clears with diablo.
The interface is much like the 1000 series, the tuner is as sensitive as my TMS model so good news.
Scanning the HD channels requires looking at a site like kingofsat because theres 3 different formats to pay attention to, the pilot setting usually needs to be off to pick up the channels.

Yes the SD quallity is improved through upscalling, i cant make my mind up weather i prefere 720p or 1080i for HD though.

Theres possibly a bug, unless its just my reciever in that the move channel function doesnt work.
