Do you know anything about it Rolf, as it seems a bit strange that no specs have been released yet (as far as anyone knows).

LOL, alas I don't Rob, my comment above was referring to the then non-existent photos.

I'm sure though that there will be an explosion of gushing "users" hyping it up on every forum when it is released though.

It will depend a lot on the software available as to how good it'll be and the only way it can compete with the Dreambox is if it has a better tuner and or much cheaper price.

I'd have thought that their entry into the Linux box market would have done something more than the current offerings.

I'll certainly be keeping hold of my DM7000 until a twin tuner High Definition receiver appears.

My System: [ Relook 250S ]

This receiver doesn't bring anything new, after looking at the specs it looks like it's 2 years old.

That's SD only, right? No HD, what's the point.

Price now £110!! How can they drop the price like this? If i had bought it a few months ago I'd be annoyed. Wasn't it selling I wonder, anyway £110 it surely has to be a deal?

My System: dreambox 700s, nokia 9600.

i have one and i can say the tuner is far better then the dreambox that i have and also the software is just about the same, the remote control has all the main key functions from the dreambox software. set it up in around 40 mins with hard drive and all is well. picture quality is the same it only gets better. oh and satans key updater works brill. its what i would call a dam good buy. now one dreambox for sale.

Hmmm new member with 1st post. Call me cynical. But I've been reading through the lines various other forums are full of posts like that who all promote the 9100 aggressively in preference to the Dreambox.

I read that the PVR functions don't work yet and that not all CAMs are possible yet - TPS not working. Not saying its a rubbish box, just want some balance! Anybody else here got one and can advise please? preferably an established member! (no offence)

Not sure if AI am senior enough to answer your question but life with a TM 9100 really is good.

I'm running the latest ur008 beta 3 image and it's as stable as the gemini images I used to run on my Dreambox 7000 and I've had no random resets or freezes.

The hard disk install was a breeze and I have mgcamd with latest satan keys opening D+ and TVCabo at the moment plus the satan key updater running. There is allot more I want to do with this box but considering the amount of time it has been around I have been very impressed with the software so far and the exceptional price.

I'd recommend it over the Dreambox as I think a TM 9100 offers almost everything a Dreambox can at under half the price.

I'm so excited by this box that I am even setting up a dedicated web site for it.

The PVR functions are fine and very easy. First hit the pvr button and then hit record or alternatively set the timer. Because all of the menu buttons are on the remote control it's very quick and easy to navigate through all of the menus.

Well I've just ordered one for £109 inclusive of postage from wizard, so I can have a play. The only thing which concerns me is how available new images will be.

I'll start a section off for it when I get mine.

PS. the other concern is why is it now so cheap.

The cheapness is also my concern Rolf, but if you are buying one and a few others here have one, then I'm almost decided to get one too. I read that the chasing playback doesn't work yet too. But this is apparently software issues. Nice to see a section here on it.

I've been getting along with my Technomate 1500 just fine but what would the Technomate 9100 give me that the TM1500 can't.
Either on main forum or PM.

Thanks
Rob

PS. Can't believe that Rolf has brought one, just dying to read what he has to say about it.
