My System: Sky digital (UK) and Fortec Star FS4300 FTA Box fixed at 28.2E
Football on RTÉ Two (Sat only)

Hi I live in NI and can recieve RTÉ TWO through Sky digital which is great. One problem is that when I want to see Champions League games or ROI matches I get a message:

THIS PROGRAM IS NOT AVAILABLE

I know it has something to do with rights in the UK but why should I pay for sky sports when the coverage on RTÉ is better. Does anybody know when ROI will launch its FTA digital service?

RTE have no plans to launch any fta services.

If you want the RTE sports programming you need to "move" to the Republic.

My System: TM 6900 HD Triax 110 cm dish motorised.

Mournespide

Why not dump Sky if you don't want to pay for it. You can already get the matches from RTE on analogue from Clermont Cairn and if you attach a combi FTA receiver like a TM 6900 HD to your aerial you will get the DTT from there as well. Attached to your dish it will also give you everything on Freesat including BBC and ITV HD and more. If your only gripe with Sky is that they don't give you matches you can already see by alternative means you know the reason and I don't really see your problem.

Can you not get RTE analogue with a group c/d aeriel where you are? I get it perect up here with a mast head amp. Its strange what gets blocked and what gets through. I could watch Cheltenham races live but the highlights l8r in the evening were blocked.

My System: Sky digital (UK) and Fortec Star FS4300 FTA Box fixed at 28.2E

Just want to clear a few issues first:

1. YES, I can see the football on analogue!

2. I never had a sky sports subscription

It is not just sport that is blocked, sometimes horseracing, the dukes of hazzard on TG4 even Home and away is blocked too.

What digital tv services available from Clermont cairn? I was able to recieve some tests using a UK freeview box but it did not last for long. Will just have to get me next plasma tv in Dundalk.

I was only wondering if there was anyway around the geoblock. Setanta do it as well I am led to believe.

Not if it is on a DTT (freeview type) service.
