Gentlemen. Thank you very much for your tips which are getting me closer! (I can mess around with my satellite box and cams and cards without too much trouble...but this freeview thing is beating me!!). I'm into my 5th hour of reinstalling etc to try and see what the rf numbers are. They come down fast in about 5 chunks! I think that I am picking up from Crystal Palace. I have been banging in the pids on numerous numbers, mostly Ch 31 and 32. Ch 32 has CH5 on it. I must be making a really stupid error somewhere!

If you're still stuck by tomorrow night, post again and I'll sort you out. Bit late tonight, and I still have a whole bunch of sat-stuff to fix

Find out for sure which transmitter you're on and we can look up the mux/channel details.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

It should tell you which transmitter in the information, if your Multiplex A is channels 32, then you are on Crystal Palace http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/tx_lse.html

Thanks so much for all tips. At last I have got xtra going! Fortunately it is making a lot more sense now. Tuning to Ch5 and then going to adv search throws up Ch31rf no. which of course should be 32 for Mux A, (thanks Rolf). All the other locations that I have tried I have failed on for other channels. I read that pids don't change...or are some web pages listing pids out of date? Is a PCR pid the same as a CA Entitlement Control Message PID? Rooting around the net I found 1.6.2 software (thanks Nick?!!!). I had assumed that my problems with the 221T were due to it being a dodgy box. I now realise that mine behaves comparatively well!! Thanks again all.

note:- I have got media portal to work with redhot and xtraview, see wot u mean about redhot, if I saw them on the street I would walk on by.
I was hoping to have had some sort of reply by now, I can't spend too much time on it myself as my missus has had 3rd kid, lifes a bit hectic, Why do women want more kids!!??

I can't seem to get any audio! It's really bizarre - when it gives that confirmation window to ask whether you can see video and hear audio - it works! Both audio and video, but when I switch to the channel... the audio disappears. Can't seem to work out whats wrong.

I've entered the codes as: Video: 7070, Audio 7071 and PCR PID 2304.

Help!!

Thanks

My System: Nokia 221T

Hey BGonaSTICK!

Any chance of stating which version of Hardware/Firmware you have?

I have a:

Nokia 221T
=============

System Info:
HW Ver: 5
System Software: 221T - 1.1.2
Boot Software: 1.3
MHEG Lib: vM 1.0.1c

I have a problem is that I can input all of the channel settings in the Advanced menu, and able to preview them by pressing the OPT button. However, when I then come out of the settings menu to watch the channel - there is a fine picture, but *NO* sound!

Since the picture is fine, and the sound is missing - could there be an issue with the PCR not being correct?

If possible, can you be a mate and post when settings you input, and also which version of the box you have in case others (including me) need to upgrade the Nokia firmware?

Many thanks.

Hey dude I fixed the problem. Download the beta version of the hardware which is some like 1.6.2 (available on the net somewhere). I did that, then reinstalled, entered the codes for Red Hot and voila! It worked.

They don't change the algo every few hours! Just every day when the day code (first 2 digits of the Viewer ID) changes. Actually its less than that, but the algo gets a new value every day.

Hi, Im extremely new hear and not too sure about anything really lol. I have a SetPal DV3 by Labgear

I dont have any leads connecting it to the computer, no cards for the computer, all I have is my TV and my trusty Freeview box. Most channels on F'view are kinda rubbish and I am really intrested in getting some better ones! My freeview box is very old as I got it around the time freeview first came out. I dont no of any way to get into a programmers menu or anything, there is a search button on the box but i dont know if there is a way to put in any custom channels onto blank channels. I would be extrmeley gratefull to ANYONE who can help me with this.

Thankyou very much,

Elliott

I've checked mine, and it's identical to yours in every way. There are no further OTA updates available when I attempt a software update.

There have been problems with the sound recently, as you can read about earlier in this thread.

Unless you find a menu
that lets you enter PIDS,
I think I'd have to let you know
you've really had your chips.

Buy the clunky Nokia
menu options are not hid
it lets you enter all the stuff and...
they can be had for £20.

Oooh sorry, that sucked BIG TIME!

Don't shoot the messanger...

The good news...

E4 will be moving from TopUpTV to Freeview [FTA] by the end of the month. Top Up TV will have to replace the channel and there are are rumours they may be adding several new channels.

The bad news...

Because of the chronic lack of space on their multiplex I wouldn't be at all surprised if they axe XtraView and / or RedHot to accommodate the new channels. If XtraView was designed as s stop-gap measure that would explain the dodgy branding etc.

The silver lining???

There are unconfirmed reports that $ky one or other premium channels might be joining the line-up, this should make the commercial pirates sit up and take notice. I would imagine there are allot of bored S*ca gurus around at the moment, OnDigital round two anybody....

BTW, Please say if it is a freeview box. Thanks agen

If you dont think much of the existing freeview offerings, then your only real option is to get a satellite sytem.

I'll be gutted if we lose xtraview. It's the best thing since sliced bread!

Discovery overload! Six hours of fishing programes can be watched on Sat/Sunday mornings, and 2 hours every weekday evening!

What do you mean you don't like fishing?!?!?! Are you nuts?!?!?!
