<<EDIT>>

Sorry Nick, but we'd rather not have live links to other forums.

Suffice to say that it's available on several sites now including Digital World and JKF.

Fair enough mate

Even if you find the keygen we need to work out how to get the algo update,

There are some details on the problem here:

Xtraview Keygen !

Hello all.
I just got a Nokia 221t but had no luck in getting extraview or redhot.
As a total novice it would be great if someone could do a step by step guide sort of thing.

Any help would be much apreciated.

Cheers

The fact that "RedHot" is about as hot a dull episode of emmerdale farm is not the point. The point is it’s *NOT ENCRYPTED*, even a little bit!

On a normal set top box you would have to pay a £12 subscription [then £6 per night after that!] to get you past the MHEG password screen.

On a PC DVB-T device all you have to do is manually enter the stream’s PIDS into you channel list file.

VIDEO PID = 7070

AUDIO PID = 7071

That’s all there is to it. If only Top Up was that easy…..
Thanks for this. I am new to this forum, but it seems a bit technical for me. Can you explain in plain english how i can achieve free Xtraview please? I have a Humax PVR 8000T - 80GB

Well, Syanide, you need to be able to get into the setup menu of your box. It may be that you can alter the PIDs of an already tuned channel (but I doubt if you'll be able to do this in your Humax); or, you will need to change to manual search, enter the PID's you want to search for and let the box go search for the channel, (this works in the Topfield TF5800PVR) though there is a but. Always there is a but; and here it is that the Extraview channel will probably not appear where you want it to, it won't settle itself over the channel found by the automatic scan, and thus, as a new, manually tuned channel it will have no name (though you can probably name it whatever you like) and most importantly of all, the EPG won't work because the box doesn't recognise the PID alone tuned channel as Extraview.

IMHO, Extraview: just about worth bothering to do. Redhot: go get a book out of the library instead. If my mum turned up while I was watching it I'd not bat an eyelid. Worse, neither would she.

Don't shoot the messanger...

The good news...

E4 will be moving from TopUpTV to Freeview [FTA] by the end of the month. Top Up TV will have to replace the channel and there are are rumours they may be adding several new channels.

The bad news...

Because of the chronic lack of space on their multiplex I wouldn't be at all surprised if they axe XtraView and / or RedHot to accommodate the new channels. If XtraView was designed as s stop-gap measure that would explain the dodgy branding etc.

The silver lining???

There are unconfirmed reports that $ky one or other premium channels might be joining the line-up, this should make the commercial pirates sit up and take notice. I would imagine there are allot of bored S*ca gurus around at the moment, OnDigital round two anybody....

It looks like XtraView is being closed down after all! 8(

We've got until August 31st,

well it's been fun.....

Indeed. Very sad.

Thanks though, Nick (for the original info).

As you say, 'twas fun while it lasted.

Saturday and Sunday mornings will never be the same again.

If my fishing-program-withdrawal-symptoms get too bad, I might even buy TUTV!

I thought TUTV would be good. Unfortunately the wife likes tennis, so we watch nothing else.

Taken from the XtraView website:

"Xtraview is currently being modified and will resume later this year"
I think it's wishfull thinking myself but we live in hope... I wonder if they will change the MHEG access system next time around???

Nice. If it's unencrypted, then I happy... and I can't think of any other way of doing it such that you can access it without a card...

My System: I bet on red. If I lose, I double the bet on red again. I continue with this until I lost everything.

Muhuhuhahahahahaaaaarrrgggh

Anyone tried using this method with a Dreambox yet? Could it work?

Question

I have heard you can get DVB-T and DVB-C NIM front-ends for the DreamBox, I don't know if you can add them yourself or if you need a custom PCB though.

Well I know you can get DVB-C variants (as opposed to add-ons), but never seen a -T option.

I've got two dm-500T's. They work very well in the UK, as long as you apply a QAM64 patch.

As to whether they work with Tepid, I don't know. It's such rubbish that I can't be bothered to find out.

Same here. (Nokia 221T) Thanks to the exceptionally helpful Nick many months ago I inputted the Vid Pid and Aud pids as listed above and also a PCR PID. I had got the box back after a loan to a pal and there is no Redhot clearing. Is this because there has been a PID change? Do I need to find all 3 or just the PCR PID to get it back or even with the Nokia do i have to educate myself about this 'keygen process' and changre settings daily or whatever? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Nokia pids the same

Have sorted it. The pids are still the same. Maybe the channel number changed. (Pointing at Crystal Palace). Channel number on screen or the different channel number in the edit channel list bear no resemblance to the channel number to put the pids in against! Daft? Use the rf no. to add pids to. In my case Ch 32.

My System: FreeCom DVB-T USB 2.0 Stick Dell Dimension 8500 WinXP
Newbie Question

Hi y'all - I've just bought a FreeCom DVB-T USB stick and, like so many others, have been looking at ways to . . . ahem . . . "engineer" it! My problem is that the DTVplayer.exe that comes with it generates .tbl files that obviously contain the PID and freq info. I've opened these files but they just seem to contain strings of erroneous info. Does anyone know if there is a way of viewing these files sensibly?

TIA

Yep - Access can't read it but Excel will - just get this sort of stuff:

ChannelList 2,,ÌÌÌÌ info's in there somewhere, just a question of finding the right prog to read it.

Try using your device with other software like ProgDVB or MyTheatre which can edit PIDs. You will need to find a working driver, some details here:

My System: sky digi.... pc built myself

hI....I'm new to this game but am eager to learn...I've just bought a Nokia 221t......picked a channel which gets me a picture (i.e. 52) entered the PID codes everyone is posting (7070 7071 etc.) but can't get redhot to show up.
Is it still possible or has the channel now been encrypted and I've wasted my money.
Please help....very frustrated (no pun intended)
Thanks

@ Amberviking

The FreeCom DVB-T USB stick that you bought. Did you have any success using the bundled mini aerial, or did you just sling in into the bin?
