My System: FreeCom DVB-T USB 2.0 Stick Dell Dimension 8500 WinXP

Hehe! Yep you guessed it! Sling it - unless you're sitting on top of a transmitter! Got my stick plugged into my domestic feed (which is boosted) and it works just fine. That's all very well if you've got a static set-up, but if you're using it on a laptop (like they say you can) then I don't reckon you'll get any joy whatsoever.

Hmm. That's what I thought. I tried two of these things from Germany a while back. No signal and I can see the transmitter at Winter Hill from my kitchen window.

Why doesn't somebody come up with a little dongle to fasten onto your domestic feed that uses 2.4GHz wireless to send it ti a USB tuner stick?

Failing that I'll have to wait for proper wireless usb.

I seriously doubt that it has been encrypted hhuig678. I'll dig around a bit but even if you do get Redh*t to work you're going to be a seriously disappointed bunny. Unless you like softcore starring grannies from Southend, that is.

Thanks Rhubarbe.....I really appreciate it......it's really good of you.
I've only had the box a week and I've been digging around myself till I'm fed up but can't get anywhere with it.
Is my system anything to do with it?

Hardware Ver. 5
System Software 221t 1.5
Boot Software Ver. 1.3

MHEG Library vM 1.0.1C

Thanks Again

Did you change your box to channel 5 before manually entering the PIDs?

Thanks bud but nothings happening....
I presume this means "get channel 5 up on the NOkia Box".
This I have done and the signal strength meter is at about 36% showing channel 5 on a good reception.
When I go to the advanced screen to i/p the PID's...the signal drops away to about 5%
I've scrolled through the channels (from 21 to 69) , found the strongest signals and tried inputting the PID's here but all I get is a black screen apart from the messages generated by the Nokia box!
I have read this forum from front to back but can't seem to get redh*t to show.
Apart from this, the box will pick up all other legitimate free to air channels great which should suggest the box is ok.
I'm convinced I'm just not doing something quite right.
Are you able to get it Rhubarbe?

No, I can't get it either. i did exactly what I did all those months ago when we first tried this. It doesn't work any more. I'm sure that Nick or somenody will be along soon to tell us what we are doing wrong but it's geting late now and I need loads of beauty sleep. Redh*t is crap anyway; take my word for it.

I believe that wireless usb up and coming will do this job, albeit by attaching a wireless dongle to the PC and another to the remote usb device. Will this be my next piece of vapourware, or the one after the one after the one after next? Oh yes.

Ah yes, that was it. You have to do a manual rescan on the right channel number.

My System: Technomate Super FTA 1000D, 85cm Digiquest dish,Skystar 2 card,Moteck SG2100A motor, Netgem i-player,Hauppauge WinToGo TV card

Did anyone try to get this working on Netgem I Player
I tried it using several dvb: and about: commands but to no avail, I couldn't access PIDs

Does anyone know where I can find a list of these dvb: commands?
The list I have is a lil limited.

Cheers

I have a Topfield PVR5800. Why do I get no sound with the following PIDs for RedHot?

Video 7070
Audio 7071
PCR 2304

I get video fine, but no audio. What am I doing wrong?
