FREE “RedHot” on DVB-T PC Systems! The fact that "RedHot" is about as hot a dull episode of emmerdale farm is not the point. The point is it’s *NOT ENCRYPTED*, even a little bit! On a normal set top box you would have to pay a £12 subscription [then £6 per night after that!] to get you past the MHEG password screen. On a PC DVB-T device all you have to do is manually enter the stream’s PIDS into you channel list file. VIDEO PID = 7070 AUDIO PID = 7071 That’s all there is to it. If only Top Up was that easy….. | Phwoarr - Emmerdale..... Seriously it does sound interesting, in much the same way as the Albanian TV sport was for most people, impossible to pick up, the channel could not be detected by MPEG2 receivers until the right PIDs were manually entered. Makes you wonder how many other signals there are out there just waiting the right manipulation

| The A/V PIDS are the only "hidden" ones, If you can use TSReader with your device you can find the others, but here they are anyway: PCR PID = 2304 PMT PID = 259 TS ID = 12290 SERVICE ID = 15680 If you have a Nokia MediaMaster Set Top Box you can enter them manually on that aswell. Cheers, Nick. | ||

I seem to remember my Nokia 221T has the option to enter pids when you tell it to scan in manual. (i think) will confirm this and the S/W ver when I get home. L. My System: 1200cc with 100,000,000,000 neurons and 100,000,000,000,000 connections | All I have is add channels and store channels Add channels does an auto scan and adds any channels it finds to the current list. Store channels erases the current channel list and stores all the ones it can find. But each one is automatic and doesn’t allow anything to be changed manually. Perhaps it’s the ancient firmware this box is running, details in the screenshot.

Thats virtually identical to the embedded terrestrial box I have in the Bush TV here, which is probably coming up for three years old. No auto updates available that I have found as yet - comes up 'update error' - and so I am not even sure if this would be able to receive TUTV.

Good god ! - they are some rough old bints on there .SERIOUSLY if trolls the size of busses speaking with a home counties accent is your bag then you have arrived. Other wise it really isn't worth the time entering the pids matey ![]() L.

| I accept all major credit cards... Did you get it working??? You might also be able to get it on the NetGem I-Player using these scripts: http://www.denismartindale.supanet.com/previous.html Let me know if it works, Nick | ||

Also get strange video effect where every 20 or 30 seconds, you get a few frames of the video from the same channel, but from a few minutes before, then video is restored to normal. Weird. You can still watch a program, but it's very annoying. I've never seen it before, and have no idea what might be causing it. Signal strength is very good here, and there's no pixelation. As far as watching TV it's a bit of a bummer, but as an experiment it's fantasitic. Don't know if there's anything you can suggest? The RedHot PIDS work flawlessly for long periods (err. allegedly...) STICK

| I think everyone had dodgy audio this morning [ even the paying customers ] so I think it must have been a problem at SDN, they seem to have sorted it out now though. No idea what's causing that weird video bug?!? It sounds like its clearing some sort of frame buffer but are you sure these phantom frames are from a few minutes earlier??? I know they use some very strange MPEG2 encoding parameters [criminally low bitrate, strange GOP structure with very long I-frame intervals, 544X578 resolution etc] What kind of decoder are you using? Maybe it can't cope with the strange format they are using - which is fair enough! I found some people working on an MHEG keygen but I think they change the algorithm every few hours so I don't think it's very practical - I'll let you know if they crack it. Cheers, Nick | ||
