Irish broadcaster Setanta has delayed its plans to launch a free-to-view sports channel, according to reports. The company had planned to launch the station last month on Freeview, Sky and cable, with a lineup including Uefa Cup football and Scottish Premier League football, as well as coverage from Irish and American sports. Setanta's joint CEO Leonard Ryan said the delay was because: "We felt that unless we got premium content, the channel would not have attracted enough revenue, Until [a premium content partner] is on board we're not going to take the car out of the garage." He added that Setanta was still in discussions with two potential broadcast partners and remained confident that a deal could eventually be reached. | ||
