New evidence from research firm Continental Research suggests that as the Freeview audience grows, an ever-greater proportion appears to be new to multichannel TV. According to the company's Spring 2004 Digital TV Report, there are currently 2.27 million homes that have Freeview only and nothing else. Of these, 1.59 million have never had multichannel television before, compared with 0.68 million who previously did have. The report also predicts that Freeview will be in 4.9 million homes by 2005. Overall, nearly 17 million homes will have digital TV in the UK by that date, says Continental, which includes eight million for sky digital and 3.9 million for digital cable | ||
