Hi Gary,

* 11530 / H / 3198 (MSNBC) (WAS DAD 6 FIBRE TX)
* 11526 / H / 3198 (DAD 5 FT-55)
* 11517 / H / 3744 (DAD 4 FIBRE TX) (WAS DAD 5) (NETWORK FEED)
* 11522 / H / 1500 (TANDBERG SERVICE - DAD 2) (WAS DAD 7 NET 53)

These are the main feeds i keep my eye on,all still coming through with no problems here.

MSNBC is there 24/7,all other feeds come and go throughout the day and night although the network feed is there most nights,NYC is 5 hours behind us so usually Midnight to 5am

Do you have any other frequencies i may have missed?

Hope this helps?

Yep, it was 15W, as per dexterfletchers post. I only tried it when I posted, can't remember what time it was, but it was late.

Gents, the mystery continues....
i can search & find the Far Eastern feeds, Tzuchi, MAC, VOA with a good signal strength/quality- but no luck with the ones i want :-( Could my LNB be going faulty - i remember a guy at HiSat (Bristol) saying the US feeds have a very low symbol rate and hence are hard to lock onto?? if any one has any equipment they would like to sell me - to help guarantee reception please give me a shout. thanks again, Gary

Hi mate,the signals are certainly not as strong as the other channels you mention,the strongest being the MSNBC feed.
Some of the symbol rates are low with one of the feeds using 1500S/R although reception on that feed is not too bad.
I found that if i let my box blind scan it sometimes picks up a Dad but to find them all i have to enter the details maually for best result.

I purchased the Manhattan Plaza XT-CM receiver although any of the Plaza range has a really sensitive tuner and handle low sybol rates really well.They are very good value for money and also have a quick blind scan.

Good Luck!!

Hi!

I have a problem with that MSNBC frequency. It seems that I can't get signal on it even though I should. Is there anything I can do?

Thanks.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

Many receivers wont lock onto very low symbol rates. Try this trick - it used to sometimes work for me on low sr channels.

Detune the receiver 2 khz at a time either side of the nominal frequency +/- 10 khz.
So if the frequency is 12000 khz you try 11998 11996 11994 11992
11990 then up 12002 12004 12006 12008 12010.

If the lnb oscillator has drifted off frequency it can help lock it.

If you are hoping for the full Yank tv schedules forget it - its mainly the overnight news shows.

Thank you, it worked and I managed to find it, but I have a real problem with interference. I guess, the signal isn't that strong.

Hi Mashter. From South Africa, and since they stopped showing MSNBC on BTV, I am also trying to get MSNBC off Telstar 12. Can I ask what size dish you have?

Many thanks!

By twist of fate, I am also able to receive MSNBC, and some DAD's, but the picture is so choppy that it's not worth it! It's like there's rain fade...

I am using 90cm Dish is there anything I can do?

I sort of knew that but was in denial ... Won't invest in a big dish until I know for sure that they will stay there forever.

Thanks though for that kick back to reality!

Nothing is guaranteed in the world of satellite. Make a decision and hope it pays off for you - the channels could stay there for ages or disappear 2 days after you buy the dish.
