My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

FEC is automatic using the Silvercrest.

No problems with mine.

Edit: The FEC is 5/6 anyway, not 3/4.

Actually ZDF and RTL have FEC=5/6 according to Lyngsat
_http://www.lyngsat.com/hotbird.html
I remember this because I had to input 5/6 in order to scan successfully.
Try this if you can and see what happens.
Edit: Can you see any other channels in the Media Broadcast TP?

Eureka!

I have found out why you can't get it: It is flagged as Encrypted in Cryptoworks, but is actually FTA.

Do a scan for All, not just FTA, and all will be well

The FEC should be dealt with Automatically.

Did you scan for Scrambled Channels, as advised?

There is an Encryption Flag set, even though it is actually FTA.

yes scanned for scambled channels, the frequency is showing it isn't picking up signal for that frequency. All the other frequnecy work fine apart from the zdf and rttl frequency on Hotbird

How odd!

I'm sorry, I'm all out of suggestions.

Can you try to type 6.6667/8 for FEC? or is it a closed menu?
5/6=0.8333 and 6.6667/8=0.8333

BTW: Can you see any of the channels that have FEC=5/6 in Hot Bird 13E
_http://www.lyngsat.com/hotbird.html
TP 127, TP 134, TP 11, TP 14, TP 18, TP 155, etc.

My System: Sky; Raven 90 multi-LNB 1W, 7E, 9E, 13E 16E, 19E; 1m Orbital dish on Moteck SG2100 motor; Technomate 1500, Phoenix Apollo and Kathrein (analogue) etc etc Receivers

Try deleting the transponder altogether and then re-enter it; that sometimes cures this kind of thing somehow.

checked to the tp's 127, 134, 11, 14, 18, 155. They all are receiving a good signal. Also tried deleting the tp for 11054 (zdf) and retyping in the frequency number 11054 H, still no signal being received and chaging fec to 7/8.

It is a closed menu for fec starts at 1/2 and goes up 16/16 but miss out 5/6 fec setting.

Forgive me, but I'm rather confused ..........

I have an SL65 and it copes with FEC automatically.

But, since I've mentioned it before yet the issue of the 5/6 FEC keeps coming up, I've just been through all the Installation Menus on my SL65 to eliminate the possibility of a brainstorm on my behalf and can find no reference to FEC anywhere!

My SL65 is a Mains Model - is yours the 12v model by any chance?

Where the heck does is let you specify FEC?

where you would chose to do auto or preset scan the top when is labeled "ANTENNA SET UP"

Think its the 12 volt box.

That's where I'd expected to find it on mine and i've just checked yet again and there is no mention of FEC anywhere!

AS you say, yours must be the 12v model, although I rather assumed they would be substantially the same.

Anyway, as I haven't got the benefit of the identical menus, is there an "Auto" option for FEC on yours?
