- update: MP3-Player V1.07.06. Added endtime offset depending on bitrate.

the blue button.

"previous track" button moves the timeline one page back.

- new : Timelined EPG. If you press the EPG-button, you get an timeline
based EPG-view. The shown services depends on the currently
selected list from the Channel-Browser. So i.e. if you stay in a
favorite list, you will see the services from that favorite list
in the EPG. Navigation throught the EPG is possible with the
cursor keys. With OK you will get the detailed description, if
available. Zoom +/i keys will change the resolution of the
timeline. The red button marks an event for recording. The green
button marks an event for zap and the yellow button unmark
an event, which is currently marked for recording or zap. The
old weekly view EPG for the current selected service is still
available from the Extras Menu.

Note, because this is an update image, you have to unpack
/httpd.tar.gz file on your box once.

based on the EIA-608 standard. To watch the closed captions while
playback, press the Teletext button, select the CC-channel
(normally "Caption 1") and press OK.

- change: some users request to know the filename for the service-logo
display started since the last image. To see this, call the

- bugfix: picture disturbance on PVR fast rewind.
- bugfix: scan hangs on some satellites (seen on 110 and 119 west).
- change: by default, autoscan places all services with unknown private
service_id into the radio-list. So such services are still
accessible with the service-browser. If you switch to such a
service and the software detects an vide-stream, the service
is automatically remapped to the TV-list, but to see the service
in the TV-list, switch to standby and reboot the box once.
- change: the service-browser shows the satellite-data of the curently
selected service in the bottom as requested by some users.
- new : as requested, holding down the standby button for more than
3 seconds will force an reboot.
- bugfix: various problems with mounting/unmounting HDD, if setup to
HDD stay visible = no
- change: detailed service-info (blue button) can be closed by pressing
the blue button again as requested by some users.
- bugfix: timer-based reordings fauls on scrambled services (CI-Module
(or internal smartcard was not correctly setup).
- change: if a recording is deleted by pressing the red button in the
recording list, a message "Recording is..." is show, because
deleting large files on EXT3 filesystems can take some seconds.
- change: the LCD is now completely handled with DirectFB-functions. This
causes some redesigns (different locking clocks)
- update: MP3-player: V1.07.02 New dfb-browser (file-browser for PVR) like
style with colored progress bar at the bottom. Fix for no audio
play after player finish. Update to new dfb-lcd functions.
- bugfix: software detects AC3-audio on some services, where no AC3 is
(on services with Mediahighway-data).
- new : Expanded TDD file for recording with EPG info. Syntax is:
"D 0 text", where 'D' is label of EPG data, 0 is reserved for
pin managemment.
- bugfix: bookmarks handled wrong with playback times bigger than one
hour.
- bugfix: while playback, the elepased time resets to 00:00 after 59:59 (mm:ss)
- bugfix: an inserted CI-modules causes the software to freeze in standby
again.
- change: file-list for PVR-recordings is shown i reverse order (except
directories), so the newest recordings are on top of the list.
- bugfix: if a services had temporarily more than one audio-track, and if
one of the alternatice audiotracks was saved to the settings,
fallback to the main audiotrack fails.
- new : if your box runs from HDD or an NFS-export, you can assign an
graphic for each service (i.e. the service logo), which is shown
in the top left corner. This files are searched in
/stb/share/dvb2001/logos. The graphics format is PNG. The name for
the file is computed by the various service-data. I.e. for german
"Deluxe Music" on Astra 19.2 east, the filename is
7C80085008500050297.png. And this is the meaning of the data
(all values in HEX):
7C8 sat-position in 1/10 degrees + 1800 (western pos are negative)
0085 network_id
0085 original_network_id
0005 transport_stream_id
0297 program_number (in ISO, also called service_id by ETSI)
.png suffix to indicate it as PNG.

- change: the upper service-option line (audiotracks, linked services,...)
is removed completely. From now, to select service-options, press
the left or right arrow key. In that new option dialog you can
switch all currently available options for the current service.
- new : PVR-bookmarking added. While playback simply press the red hand
button to set a new bookmark. If you exit playback, an extra
bookmarks indication the last viewed position is set automatically.
To jump between the bookmarks while playback, call the service-
options (left/right cursor keys).
Technical note:
Labels are saved in the same directory like original recording with
extension .tdd in following format:
L <type> <rel-index>/<split-number> <label-name>
where:
type : 1 = user defined label,
2 = undefined/reserved,
3 = automatic-last-quit
rel-index : gop byte boundary - relative index from current
split file (not from begining of recording!)
split-number : number of split (00, 01, 02 ...)
label-name : label name
- change: enabled subtitling and teletext in PVR-playback.
- bugfix: prevent possible buffer-overflow in Conax command-scheduler.
- bugfix: box freeze in Standby with some CI-modules.
- new : for service-zapping, the up-/down cursor-keys can be set to
work mirrored in expert-menu.
- new : quicklink support for plugins. In the Extras-Menu you can pres the
red, green or yellow button on the current selected plugin to link
it to the button. Pressing the same button again will unlink the
plugin. Now in normal operation, press the one of the color button
and the linked plugin will be called.
- change: allow multiple audio-tracks without a name (i.e. "RADIOS" service
on Astra 19.2 degrees east).
- new : added handling of multiple video tracks (i.e. Sky News service on
Astra 28.2 degrees east).
- bugfix: service_type remapping fails in case the SDT was received after
the PMT sometimes.
- change: added service_type 0x82 to remap to service_type 0x01 (all the
Sky Interactive video-services on Astra 28.2 degrees east).
- update: transponder database for 97 degrees west updated.
- change: moved PVR fileselect to use our global dfb_browser.

popup message is sent within one second.

Note that the playtime (left and actual) is in sync with the bytes
which are written into the audio device. This may cause that the
"clock" will run a little bit too fast at the very beginning of a
song and sometimes will stop although it still plays 1 oder 2
seconds at the end (just the data which are still in the audio
buffer).
- new : a client plugin for the dyndns-service of dyndns.org. If your STB
has an Internet-connection, setup your dyndns-acout data in the
extras-menu and you box will be accible from the internet. If your
STB is accessing the internet over a router, do not forget to
forward the ports like Telnet or http to your STB.
- bugfix: no more missing SI-filters after bootup or standby.
- bugfix: Teletext causes crash on services with FLOF-navigation, if you
press a color-button, which was not assigned by FLOF on the
currently selected textpage.

if you wanna use an unencrypted wireless network, set the
WEP-Key to 00-00-00-00-00. Remember: Selecting DHCP for WLAN
is available in the menu, bt still not supported in the software.
- bugfix: automatic subtitling often shows the subtitles from the
previouse selected service.
- change: added the latest MP3-player and TD-control plugins.

8MB_image_0_10_0-3_24-2005_11_10.bin (tdimage_2005_11_10.bin)

- bugfix: changed plugin-loader to load plugins from flash before loading
from harddisk.
- bugfix: because plugins are loaded from the harddisk too, unload them
correctly, if the user request formating the system-partition.
- new : reenabled option "prefered subtitle language" in the language
menu. Now, if the selected service transmits teletext based
subtitles in the prefered language, displaying this subtitles
is started automatically. To stop subtitling temporary press
the EXIT button. Subtitling is automatically reenabled after the
next channel-change or after leaving the menu or any other GUI.

- bugfix: changed handling in PVR fast forward/rewind, becuase mostly A/V was
not correctly synchronized.
- bugfix: if the manual scan was called twice, the box hangs.
- bugfix: in manual scan, if a NIT was received before SDT, the NIT was
processed.
- change: in the expert menu you can select the standby-handling for plugins.
now, by default, all plugins are not unloaded anymore, if the box
is switched into standy. In this menu, you can switch back to the
old handling (completely unload all plugins).
- new : added spanish translation.

tdimage_2005_10_30.bin

- new : completely reworked harddisk initialization. You will find this menu in
Menu -> System setup -> More system setup -> Harddisk -> Installation.
In this menu you can create up to 4 partitions on your harddisk -
a swap-partition (really important for the amerika and canada), two
system-partions. All other free space on the disk is allocated for the
PVR automatically. In case you create system partition #1, after the
initialization was successfull, a bootable system is installed on this
partition. You can switch to "kernel cmd line 2" in the bootloader
(requires bootloader V3.24 or above) and the box will boot from HD.
You can initialie the whole disk, if the box is not bootet from HD, or
format a single partition i.e. to delete all your PVR-recordings.
- change: Some additional code in the satellite-scan for the american/canadian
market.
- change: reworked plugin-loader (fully backward compatible). Now there are much
more checks to the attached devices. So, if a newly atteched device
does not have an /plugin directory and at least one plugin, nothing
happens to the currently loaded plugins anymore. Even the same if a
device is removed. If no plugin from the removed devices was loaded,
no plugin is unloaded. Additionally the loader checks the directory
/mnt/hd/data/stb/lib/dvb2001 (if system-partition #1 exists, this
partition is mounted to /mnt/hd/data) to load plugins. The loader is
also able to load plugins from multiple USB-devices. In earlier
versions only the first USB-device was used.
- change: The menu now shows pagenumbers in the to right corner in the case, if
not all elements fits into one page (i.e. in satellite scan if more
than 8 satellites are configured or in Extras, if more than 5 plugins
exist).
- change: in the plugin-interface, if the version-string starts with an uppercase
'H', the plugin is not listed in the Extras-menu. This is usefull for
plugins, which provide no menu.
- bugfix: on services or PVR-recordings with multiple audio-tracks, if you
selected an different track, audio was not played anymore until you
switch to a different service ro an different recording.
- bugfix: MP3-player slowed down after heavy zapping.
- bugfix: CA/CI was initialized wrong, if a CI-module and a Card was inserted and
both devices where able to descramble the same CA-system.
- bugfix: circular polarization was handled wrong sometimes.
- bugfix: removing an USB-device causes a doubled plugin-reload.

blue and a green (woodland) skin for the GUI. In this stage, there is
no possiblity to select a skin from HD. This will be added in stage 2.
If you wanna make your own skin, take a look at:
/stb/share/dvb2001/skins/default/TD-skin.dat . It's a simple textfile.
To load an other skin than the two predefined, create or edit the file
/var/share/dvb2001/skin.dat. Line 1 of this file points to the path
where your skin is stored.
- change: As requested by some users, teletext follows the screen defined in
the OSD-setup menu. For subtitling and newsflash pages, the teletext-
page is moved to the bottom of the userdefined area.

- CONAX-CI Version 2.01: läßt nur ein einmaliges Aufrufen des CI-Menüs zu, danach brauchts
einen Reset. Steckt beim Aufruf des Moduls keine Karte im Modul,
gibts die Melung "Please Insert Card", die sich aber nicht mehr
Ausblenden läßt, weil das Modul dann einfach auf stumm macht.
- MagicModul Penta 1.11: Mit Druck auf die Exit-Taste innerhalb des Menüs wird immer das
komplette Menü geschlossen. Das Modul will es so.
- X-CAM X-Crypto 1095-p: Im SECA-Keyeditor werden nur 7 der 8 Bytes angezeigt. Das kommt
so vom Modul, das letze Byte fehlt also.
Im Keyeditor werden leere Einträge als Nullstrings vom Moduls
gesendet. Das Plugin schreibt dafür den Textg <no entry> bzw.
<kein Eintrag> ins OSD.

* bekannte Probleme mit Modulen innerhalb der Software bzw. des Treibers:

- Alphacrypt 3.00 : hängt sich gelegentlich auf. Besonders auffällig auf Discovery Channel.
- MagicModul : Treiber crasht complett, wenn das Modul ohne Karte gesteckt wird.

* Was noch fehlt:

- Bei mehr als 6 Einträgen innerhalb des CI-Menüs kann gescrollt und auch voll bedient
werden, aber es fehlt noch der Scrollbalken.
- Im Plugin-Hauptmenü noch je ein Eintrag für "CI-Modul Details" und "Reset CI-Modul".

Having said that, the latest TDman image is a full 8Mb one - no need to load the official image first (but save your settings before uploading)

- new : If you switch to a service, which provides linked services, you can
each linked services as a single service to your servicelist. While
on such a service, just call the service-options dialog (left/right
cursor button), select the linked service you wan't to save and press
the blue button.
- new : tdcontrol-plugin: new command "ver", which reports some version info.
- new : tdcontrol-plugin: new comman*s rcs, rci, rcf, rct, rcn, wcs, wci and
wcf especially for settings editors. This will enabled loading a new
service-list and/or favourite-list without rebooting the box. The
detailed developer-information is available as PDF from the public
SVN.
- new : enabled the zoom in/out buttons. This works only, if the output-format
is set to fixed 16:9 ! In that case, if the source-format is 4:3, you
can zoom in to different x:9 formats. This is usefull, if the service
transmit letterboxed content. If the source-format is also 16:9, you
can zoom in and out from 50% to 150% of the image size, where 100% is
the original size.
- new : plugin for network-streaming. You can enable a streaming server in
the extras-menu and are able to connect to the box with various
streaming-client applications. We prefer VLC from www.videolan.org,
but it will also work i.e. with Microsoft Mediaplayer 9.

Test pattern generator plugin for TripleDragon

This plugin can create various testpattern to correctly setup the attached
display device (Beamer, CRT-TV and so on).

Grids
-----
Square grids are available in red, green, blue and white on a black background.
Such grids can be used for checking the geometry.

NOTE: Grids are currently not NTSC-safe (shows rectangles instead of squares)

Staircases and ramps
--------------------
Can be used to check the grayscale and color reproduction. Colors are generated
as defined by the EBU (European Broadcast Union).

Testcards
---------
Various testcards are available:

SMPTE: Primary used in 525 line systems like NTSC in America. The pluge test is adopted to meet the requirements of CCIR-601 (super-black at zero, black at 6.25% luminance and near-black at 13% luminance).

PM5544: This testcard is used around Europe in PAL-Systems. Originally it is
generated by a hardware device called PM5544 manufactured by Philips.

This software implementation can not reproduce the frequency checks (the vertical white/dark grey lines above the greyscale correctly.

Originally this are sinewave carriers, which produce smooth white-grey transients. In this implemtation they are drawn as white/black lines.

Note: in 16:9 mode, this implementation simply ingreasethe number of vertical lines as the Philips PM5644, but does not add the additional elements.

FuBK: This testcard is mainly used in some european countries, but mainly in Germany. Originally it was generated by a hardware device developed by
the company Telefunken. As for the PM5544 card, this implementation does not correctly reproduce the frequncy check area. Additionally the two big squares in the lower right of around the circle are always grey. This two fields in the analog world are used to calibrate PAL-decoders - the signal in this area has defined phase-errors and the PAL-decoder should be able to restore the oiginal phase.

SECAM: The real name of this testcard is unknown, but it was used (with some variations) in the eastern europe countries until the end of the cold
war including in the former USSR. This version reproduce the testcard
from the former GDR except showing the current time in a strange font.

- new : a small update plugin which allows you to update the software of your box (excluding kernel and bootloader) directly from the GUI. You can update from booth an Internet server by FTP- or HTTPprotocol or from a local file.
- bugfix: While PVR-recording, if you pressed the Pause/Play button, the recording
was paused/resumed but both the OSD and the LCD did show anything.
- change: because some operators (hello APS Germany and Canal+ France) transmit
service names within the SDT which are only a couple of spaces, this service names looks empty in the service list. This version includes a workaround for such service names. While a satellite/transponder-
scan, the names are checked and if they only contain spaces, they are renamed as services without a name:
{frequency - polarisation - symbolrate - FEC}

A few words about the online-update... By default, the plugin uses a hard coded URL for the download. If you like to use your very own download server, you can define them in the configuration file /var/etc/libupdate.cfg. As long as this file does not exist, the default server is used. The URL in this config file must look like:

update://user: password@host: port

For FTP all values must be valid (user, password, host and port). For HTTP, user and password are ignored and the port must be set to 0 (zero). Internally the port for HTTP-transfers is fixed to port 80. For both FTP and HTTP the filename is fixed to tdsystem.mtd, which is identical to our typical tdimage.bin as long as no kernel, bootloader or var-partition is inlcuded.

Here is a small update mainly for all the users scanning on Astra 28.2 degrees east. This update is also available through the online update function.

- bugfix: satellite scan on Astra 2 at 28.2° east ended up with an endless loop scanning everytime the same transponder again and again.

- change: The detailed EPG-window is able to display the content of the so - called item list. This list is partly in use by various operators like CSAT and ABsat (france). But beware, we are not responsible for the displayed content. Not all of the text transmitted by the operators seems to be really useful.
