TV Vlaanderen on Astra1/Astra3

TV Vlaanderen is the official satellite package distributor for the dutch speaking people in Belgium. It is a subsidiary of the dutch Canaal Digitaal and shares some channels and transponders. Programmes are distributed using 2 satellites : Astra 1 (19,2 E) and Astra 3 (23,5 E).

The basic channel lineup consists of 10 TV stations and 7 radio station, coming from the following broadcasting sources :
- VRT (Vlaamse Radio en Televisie) : public broadcaster, govenment funded
- VMMa (Vlaamse Media Maatschappij) : flemish commercial broadcaster, owned mainly by the newspaper publishers
- SBS Broadcasting : international commercial broadcaster
- Media Ad Infinitum : flemish narrowcaster, specializing in lifestyle programming
- Roularta : flemish newspaper publisher, specializing in financial and regional programming
most programmes are broadcast in their original language, carrying dutch subtitles.

these basic channels are then supplemented by a variety of International channels, most of them subtitled in dutch.

These channels are grouped into 3 main packages :
- Basis
- Plus pakket
- Thema pakket

cost is as follows :
- TV Vlaanderen smartcard = 79 euro
- activation cost = 30 euro
- subscription packages (monthly) :
basic = 9,90 euro
plus = 19,90 euro (this includes the basic package)
theme package = 5,00 euro (additional)
HD package = 5,00 euro (additional)

it is possible to get a "2nd card" subscription for 2,00 euro per month - this will open up the 10 basic flemish tv stations only.

to obtain a subscription, you must provide a Belgian adress and use a Belgian account number for monthly payments.

Hi,
Are any of these channels available free to air.
I am living in portugal without a belgian address.
Is it worth me buying a FTA box and re-aligning my dish.

Sorry, not one.
The only FTA is BVN (Dutch/Belgian combination).

What encryption are they using? If I had a legal card what cam would I need?

Seca 2 but they will also change to Seca 3 I assume.
An original cam or aston cam and some others.

The matrix cam's are working also. ( reload,revolution,reborn)
Just put UCAS 3.0 (reload) or UCAS 3.1 (revolution,reborn) in the cam.
