noobie needs help with old nokia please :)

Hi everybody,
thanks for the current help with the forum.
I am suffering information overload with didgital sat stuff as im new ( been on d2mac then terrestial free )
What I would like the expert opinion on is what is the best use of the equiptment i have (and i dont mind spending £50 or so on Ebay )
I have Nokia 9800s ma20 , skyminidish 28.2` , elvis programmer , pic/eeprom gold cards.
I know the nokia has built in viaccess, can this be changed?
I currently have 782 channels in the list from this sat , so which can i genuinly recive - according to sites there is only supposed to be about 100 channels?.

thanks in advance
p.s. im in the midlands if it helps

The Nokia 9800 is an inbuilt Viaccess receiver, but it does have a Common Interface slot for other encrypted transmissions

There is also a delete feature within the receiver for removing unwanted channels from the lists, however it is quite a pig to use. Dont believe the Free and Scrambled idents on the side for guides to editing the list though

There is apparently an update of firmware now available as T24 mentioned not so long ago

My System: Sky HD, TM6800HD, Manhattan Plaza ST550 and TM1500 CI+. 1.0m dish and 36v motor, Panasonic DVD HDD recorder and Panasonic video/DVD recorder. Sony G800 HD TV stand/surround system + Sony KDL40W2000. Infinity USB, Elvis, CAS1, CAS2.

Hi Jeff....I don't think you'll pick up much of major interest if you are on fixed minindish aimed at 28.2 which is, as you know, the home of Bsky B. There is some free stuff like shopping and the odd radio channel. Have a look here and run through the 4 sats at 28.2.

Almost forgot

Nokias (all models) have a channel capacity limit that is lower than other makes

You may find once you have four of the most popular satellites in the memory, the receiver does some strange menu things.
