Lightbulb Echostar d2510ip needs viaccess2

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forum...looks very interesting,

I have an echostar d2510ip and have recently done an STB upgrade from the Hotbird satellite. It does not make it clear from Echostar's web site if this will make the embedded viaccess1 cam into viaccess2.
Can anyone give advice on this or will I have to add a seperate cam.

Regards

My System: Sky HD, TM6800HD, Manhattan Plaza ST550 and TM1500 CI+. 1.0m dish and 36v motor, Panasonic DVD HDD recorder and Panasonic video/DVD recorder. Sony G800 HD TV stand/surround system + Sony KDL40W2000. Infinity USB, Elvis, CAS1, CAS2.

It did on the AD3000VAIP Leepy. If there's no info....do they have an email address to contact?

Hi Jimbo,

Thanks for the reply....was your receiver able to descramble viaccess 2 after the upgrade, and do you know if gold wafer cards will do the job, even for a few channels?
The upgrade is the latest 900 version, I think I will take your advice and try to email echostar if I have no luck.

Yes viaccess 2 was fine after the update leepy. Goldcards are no good for viaccess 2 I'm afraid as it is a second generation encryption and, as such, only legitimate V2 cards will work.
