Viaccess NP4 Cam. Ideal Irish DTT MPEG4 to MPEG2!

This Viaccess Cam manufactured by Neotion has been designed to work with official Viaccess viewing cards in receivers equipped with a common interface.

In addition this cam has a very unique feature in that it will allow your Set Top Box (STB) or IDTV to accept MPEG-4 transmissions.

Viewers in Ireland can receive DTT MPEG-4 free to air broadcasts from their STB / TV with this Cam. Of course these transmissions are subject to availability and you must be able to receive Irish DTT broadcasts (RTE, TV3, TG4) and have a receiver / tv that is Digital Terrestrial & equipped with a common interface (CI) Slot.

that sounds like a great idea for irish dtt mpeg4 broadcasts,.,.does it plug in [to CI] and no extra connections required?,.i have seen photos of this cam with ether net connections,.

No it is just a plug in cam with a card slot (not used for this application). Goes into ci slot of IDTV and works in most sets.

Work in the majority of IDTV and only found one set that cam did not work in;

hi i am living in ireland i have dvb reception i have a philips 42 pfl 55220/05 it has a cam slot and a digital tuner i checked the signal and it is good i have sound but no picture this tv can only recive mpeg 2 which is the uk format will this cam allow me to recive mpeg4

Yes this cam converts MPEG2 to MPEG4 on the majority of IDTV's.

hi mike this unit will not work on a philips 42pfl 55220/05
it will only find the radio stations if you can give me a list of tvs it works in
i might be able to sell a few as i an in the tv trade

Unfortunately there is no list and we have no means of testing them which is why we offer returns on this item for a full refund minus the postage (which we do at cost anyway).

They do seem to work in the majority of IDTV's.
