Thanks, haven't tried it yet, but the reference to Version 2.3 openings - does that mean Version 2.2 won't do Canal+ now?

Your patched Technomate receiver will currently open the following main packages:
Premiere 19E, changing to N3 encryption very soon
Polsat 13E
Digi TV 1W

A Diablo 2.3 Cam will also currently open
DigitAlb 16E
SexView 13E
Canal Digital 1W

An 80cm dish might be alright to receive all the channels, depending where you are roughly located in the UK.

I have been trying to find the technical specifications concerning your receiver, the Technomate 1000d, without a lot of success.
I'm beginning to think your receiver hasn't got a CI, Common Interface, slot for a Cam, if it hasn't you would need a different receiver for the Diablo Cam.
Can you please check your receivers manual to see if it has a CI slot, or even a card reader.

To program a Diablo Cam you require a Cas programmer, I recommend the Cas 3+, as this can program both cams and cards.
You need to ask other Technomate users how to manually enter keys into a Technomate receiver, or search the forum.
I shall try to post a more detailed explanation over the weekend, when I'm not so busy at work, but if you have time have a read through some other threads as most subjects have already been covered,
