My System: Technomate TM1500 CI 90cm motorised dish Sky+ with standard minidish Bush HD receiver fed by minidish Medion Quad core 6600 desktop, 500gb hdd, 3gb ram. Acer Dual core T5500 laptop, 120gb hdd, 2gb ram. |
Good morning everyone, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post so make some allowances please. I've just bought a Dragon Cam (v4.1) on impulse off a well known auction site, it came without any instructions or a loader card but was described as having the latest software loaded and in working order. My questions are:- How do I discover whether it works or not and how do I load it in the cam slot without any risk to my receiver? Do I need to buy any additional kit to load updates and where from? Will it decrypt any more channels than a patch to my receiver will achieve? Thanks

![]() | The Dragon Cam will not open any more channels than your patch. The last Predator was 369, you can check if this is installed by inserting your cam into your receiver and entering the cams menu. To get the Dragon Cam to work you will have to turn off the patch in your receiver. To update the Dragon Cam, with Predator firmware, you will either need a card programmer and loader card, either a Fun 7 or PIC F84a, or a Cas programmer with a Dummy Card interface. I recommend the Cas 3+, if you're thinking of buying one, as this can program both cams and cards. Last edited by Mickha; 24-11-2008 at 10:12 AM

To avoid any risks and not knowing how to turn off the patch I think it might be best to resell the cam. Is there any advantage at all in having the cam?
