smart burnt through in diablo light, why cam temperature,in every receiver diffrent?

Hello!
often i recogneized, that the same cam,not in every receiver have the same operation temperature!
just a friend called me,and told me,his srg card, burnt through in diablo light cam,and a technisat hd receiver!
now,on some, not on all technisat receivers, the diablo does not work, could it be posible, that the receiver software can controll, how much power realy comes into the ci cam?

for example older cams,in combination, with dome stb,are very hot,the hottest combination i know, was the echostar ad 3000 with the old irdeto freecam modul,in this receiver, sometimes, the temperature, was so high, that the cam swtich off temperarly and stop working, also in mediamaster 9600,the freecam version is very hot, then the euro ci comes, and the temperature,in 9600 was much lower, but how it looks now, there are many combinations, with stb/cams on the market, that the temperature, get so hot, that your card will be destroyed!

normaly i think,it should be in the dvb consortium, specification, how much power a stb,are maximum allowed,to send to the cam,so i dont understand, why this can happen!
thanks for your input!

The Diablo runs hotter than every other cam I have used, including the Magic Module, Conax Cam and even my 3 Dragon Cams, it got so bad that I had to raise the receiver, using blocks under each corner, to allow air flow.
This solved the freezing problem I sometimes experienced.
I have never tried a card in the cam, so I can't tell you if there is a problem, but if it was a major problem I would have assumed that others would have posted about it, and this is the first I've heard of it.
As you say it might be a receiver/Cam combination or a faulty cam.

how is the maximum temperature,a smart card can "handle"before the burn out?

long time ago i programmes with my notebook the freecams over the pcmcia, and the temperature rise up quickly when you was not fast enough the notebook not recogneized the cam,i put it in the fridge for a while, and the flashing process works much better
