Which CAMs open what at present ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

I am about to buy a CAM and wanted to ask for opinions on which is the best one. Basically what CAMs open what packages etc ? I am on 16E at the moment but in the process of purchasing a 3 degree mono to access 13E or 19E also. But if there is CAMs opening better packages on different satellites then please tell as a motor could be in order if worth it.

Thanks

My System: 1.1m Triax Motorised 45e-45w, Raven 60cm fixed, Fortex Zeta PVR, Technomate TM500

Same answer as on TW, Digi TV on 1w is the only thing open atm. That will be gone soon as they are in the middle of a card swap.

I've booted up, I've patched in, I'm online, offline, downloaded and extremely cheesed off!

The Irdeto 2 encrypted Canal Digitaal channels, 19E, are currently down on the Diablo Cam we are awaiting a new Underworld file.

Is there a new CAM onn the way out before Xmas which can possibly open alot more than what is on offer now. I am presuming that Premiere/Sky Germany will no longer be available if they switch to NDS ?

Havent heard anything. Cams are old old technology now - they are well past their sell by dates.

Sky Germany is already transmitting in NDS, althogh they havent finished turning off all the old encryptions yet. No chance of them becoming available again.

Please divulge! I was looking at a Maxx 1000 on Ebay earlier and think an ipbox which seemingly hook up to your router an unlock a bunch off 13E 16E and 19E.

Hard wired card shares. Notorious for the servers they are connected to disappearing!

Its very easy to decrypt Al Jaz - you just need a subscription card. Matrixes are old hat and apart from reading cards dont have any practical uses for decryption these days.

Digi TV is temporarily open - its changing its encryption in the near future and will dissappear soon. Could have gone by the time you get your kit set up!

Dunno which is the best - I suspect its the diablo although I havent really been keeping up with the cam scene as they hold no interest to me.

It's not just the Cam you have to buy, you also need either a Cas 3 to update the Diablo, which can also update the Dragon.
Or a card programmer and loader card to update the Dragon Cam.
I wouldn't buy any cam at the moment.

My System: Dreambox 7020si, Technomate TM600, Technomate TM9100 Fracarro Penta 85 Dish, Televes 0.6dB Quad lnb, TM SG2200 motor. 60cm Channel Master BSB dish on 28e, Mti Blueline 0.2db Twin Lnb. Rover ST-4 Meter Cyfra+ Subscription

It will probably work but as far as i am aware neither cam will activate the card correctly so it gives the full 12 months

You need a proper Viaccess cam to activate these cards to the full 12 months

My System: Sky; Raven 90 multi-LNB 1W, 7E, 9E, 13E 16E, 19E; 1m Orbital dish on Moteck SG2100 motor; Technomate 1500, Phoenix Apollo and Kathrein (analogue) etc etc Receivers

Over the last year, I used (including activating) an ART Arabesque card in a Technomate 1500 without any problem for the full year; don't know about JSC though.

Yes my mistake, Art are still using the older Via 2.5 cards. The new JSC Via 3.0 cards will only activate correctly in a Viaccess cam
