Technomate 1500 newbie help please!

I am looking into buying a patched technomate 1500 to use with 13deg, 19.2deg and 28.2deg east after reading so many recommendations. I have a few questions first though.

1. Would the Dragon CAM 4.1 be compatable with this box? I read here someone had a problem with it with this Technomate 1000 series and had to revert back to an older 3.02 CAM. I'm considering using the Dragon CAM for 28.2deg.

2. How fast is channel changes with the dragon CAM decoding NDS on the 1500? Someone mentioned using a technomate that wasn't a 1000 series that channel changes are slower than a first generation pace 2200 sky box.

3. Would I still have channel ids flash up for eg. Sky Movies 1?

4. I have a ex sub card that has ITV/CH4 unlocked. Is this card as suitable as a freesat from sky card to unlock the pay channels?

5. Is preditor just the software that goes on the CAM that does the job of decoding?

Thanks!

No idea - Ive not tried my Dragon cam, (still running old s/w on it) on 28E. Im quite happy with the service my Grundig digibox provides for pay channels, and the second feed from my 28E dish goes to a fta only receiver.

Don't know. Search the forum.

Sorry, no idea.

3. Would I still have channel ids flash up for eg. Sky Movies 1?

Again, no idea.

4. I have a ex sub card that has ITV/CH4 unlocked. Is this card as suitable as a freesat from sky card to unlock the pay channels?

It should do the same job as a freesat card, and won't unlock anything other than FTV.

5. Is preditor just the software that goes on the CAM that does the job of decoding?

Yes.

Th
nks!

Thanks for the reply.

I should have mentioned I've been reading the forums for around 5 hours over the past 3 days and have used the search function 10s of times. This is what my eyes feel like

Question 4 relates to the use of the card with a dragon cam BTW.

LOL, yes I know how you feel. When you've spent 5 thousand hours, your eyes will look like mine!

Skim through some of the other forums which you can find in our links section.

I have seen lists of the various receivers found to be compatible with the main CAMs - Matrix, MRev MRel, Dragon etc.
