My System: Echostar PVR5020, SKY Pace, Visiosat, MTI twin, Astra 1,2 & Hotbird
T-Rex beginner

I decided to extend my sat hobby with programming. For this I have ordered the Cas 3 together with a T-Rex cam. After some reading I understand that I need to load the predator soft onto the cam in order to use it. Am I correct?

I also use the Sky receiver with official card. Is it possible, with the above, to use the T-Rex with Sky card in my Echstar?

Thanks for the reply.

Hi jaapk,
the Dragon/T-Rex Cam requires firmware loaded to open channels and work with some cards, these are known as Predator files, the latest version is 3.43.
At present not a lot is open but you can still open Easy TV on Astra 19.2E, along with 2 TCM and Cartoon Network.
You can also get SRG Swiss package on Hotbird 13E, and a selection of other channels on 30W. There are a few others including 2 porn channels on 5E.
You should also get 9 months viewing of INXTC and XPLUS, 2 porn channels, on 13E and 10E, usually included as a SIM card.
Yes you can use your S*y card in the Dragon Cam, but you will need to input your S*y cards serial number into the Dragon:
You can find this 10-digit number in the menu of your original S*y box,
services->system setup->system details.

You need the SERIAL NUMBER (and NOT the viewing card number!)

Now go to the menu of you Dragon, settings->NDS Box serial.

Here, enter the 10 digit serial number including any leading zeroes.

If your NDS card was already inserted into the Dragon, remove and re-insert it after changing the Box Serial.
You will need to replace your card into your digibox periodically, every month or so, to enable it to receive the stay alive signal.
Please post back when you receive your equipment if you need any help with programming the Cam.
Best wishes

My System: 80cm motorized dish with Humax HDCI2000 reciever/Dragon cam/cas 3 programmer/Topfield 5800 digital reciever

I also have a Cas 3 (on order) and a Dragon cam (same as T-rex i believe) as a newbie to Cams/cards I do not understand the meaning of "At present not a lot is open"
I see this on several posts but what does it mean ? they may open at some time in the future ? or we have to wait for 3.4x update ?

hi,"not a lot open" just refers to the premium channels free to view, used to be a lot more available than there is just now, even just a few months ago there was a lot to watch sports, films etc.things seem to be changing where a £40 to £70 card in combination with a cam is needed to watch the previously free stuff, that is my feeling anyway.

Earlier in the year the Dragon Cam opened TPS, D+ and Premiere, three major satellite tv packages with premium films, sport and entertainment channels. In the past we've had access to a wide variety of satellite television, and other packages, including S*y Italia.
Of course the owners of these packages are not keen to let us view them for free and so they change encryption methods, and cards, to stop their keys being accessed, and stop us viewing.
Everything changes in this hobby and no one can tell you when the next package will be hacked, until then there are still a number of channels available, scattered on different satellites, so a motorized dish, and patience, is essential in this hobby !!!!!!!
Alternatively you can always gamble on new cards, like the K3, and hope support lasts long enough for you to get good value for your investment, or subscribe to packages, that provide good value, like DigitAlb.

Many thanks for the info but to clarify, should I regulary look out for the next Dragon /predator 3.4x update?
I am not too concerned with regards to the other channels as I bought the cam to view the BBC HD and be future proof without paying Mr Turdouch for the privilage but if the Cam can offer more then I would be silly not to pursue the avenues open to me

Official Predator updates are very infrequent of late, the only updates that are about are mainly enthusiasts altering original versions to add/remove crypto id's, to work with various cards, or to update keys.
It is unwise to continually load new Predator versions, just for a key change, that is why there is a debug option, in the menu, to allow you to edit keys using your receivers remote control.
If there is any new versions of Predator, due to a new hack, then you will see details posted on this site.

Are you re-programming the cam or just entering the keys with the remote ?
If the latter what type of files should I be looking for? zip file(*.dra file) or text ?

i use just the dra file in answer to the question,in combination with infinity usb programmer, only entered keys once myself.
p.s: the dra file will be within the zipfile when you are downloading, should also be a few other files in the zip, none of which i use as the infinity has a built in loader

Hi josfar,
can you please post the make/model of your card programmer and which loader card you have, a Fun Card 7 or a PICF84A, or if you are using a CAS 3.
Best wishes
